ARTEMIS

I had just finished eating breakfast when my phone dinged. "Hey Momma, can you check and see who that is?" I call out from the kitchen, where I'm sadly putting the dishes into the dishwasher because it's my turn to do the dishes.

"It's someone named Melo." My mom's voice called out, "Wait! Like LaMelo? LaMelo Ball? Apollo's best friend." My mom basically ran into the kitchen. "Are you guys together?"

Looking over at my mom, I blushed slightly and shook my head, "Mom, don't let her lie to you. They're talking and he took her out the other day." Apollo said as he turned the corner into the kitchen.

I watch with a nervous look on my face, as my mom thinks, "Well, baby girl, I like him better than that guy on the football team, so go for it." She then goes to walk away but turns back around, "But don't go too far, you're to young for kids."

"Mom!" I couldn't stop the disgusted look from coming onto my face. My mom laughed and laid my phone on the counter before she left the kitchen, Apollo following after her. I hurried to put the rest of the dishes in the dishwasher and start it. After washing my hands I grabbed my phone and opened his message.

Melo:
What are you doing today cuz i'm bored

Me:
Nothing I have a very boring life

Melo:
Imma take you somewhere, be ready in 30 mins

Me:
Hold up I have to ask my parents

Melo:
k

"Mom, Dad!" I call out for them.

"In the living room." I heard my dad's voice echo throughout the house, and I ran into the living room quickly.

"Hey, I gotta question." They nodded at what I said, as if telling me to go on. "Can I go out with Melo today?"

My parents turned to each other and whispered for a few seconds. "Yeah." My dad started, "But be careful."

I nodded happily, "Thank you, thank you!" I exclaimed, rushing over to them and pressed a kiss to both of their cheeks. My parents laughed at me and started to make jokes about how happy I was, I ignore both of them and run upstairs to my room. But before I do anything I have to text Melo back first.

Me:
They said I can go

30 MINUTES LATER

Wrapping my hairband around my hair one more time, I let go and took a step back, looking at myself in the mirror. I was wearing light blue ripped skinny jeans, a v-neck black t-shirt, my hair was pulled up in a tight ponytail, and I had a natural makeup look. My phone dinged, it was Melo telling me that he was here. Sending him a quick message, I told him that I was heading down there.

Rushing down the stairs, I called out a goodbye to my parents and siblings before heading out of the door and into LaMelo's car. "Hey." I giggled and he smiled brightly back at me. "So where we going?"

"No idea." I couldn't stop myself from playfully rolling my eyes at his words. We were riding around for a while in a comfortable silence with only the music playing in the background. "You good with going to a park?"

"A park?"I questioned and he nodded before he looked down embarrassment painted on his face.

"Never mind, that was stupid. Of course you don't want to go to a-"

I cut him off before he could finish, "Melo, you're kidding. I'm basically a five year old at heart, of course I wanna go to a park." He let out a laugh at my words and headed towards the closest park.

When we arrived I quickly jumped out of the car and Melo followed afterwards, grabbing his hand I pulled him towards the swings. As I sat on one of the swings and Melo sat on the other, I looked around and noticed that the park was empty. I was snapped out of my daze when Melo got up from the swing and before I could ask him what he was doing, he got behind me and started pushing me on the swing. I giggled and began to swing my legs when I needed to, we were like that for a while before Melo stopped the swing, and moved to where he was in front of me.

His tall figure stood in front of me and I couldn't stop the smile from coming onto my face, "What?" I questioned but he didn't reply. He only reached around and grabbed the hair bow that was in my hair, he gently pulled the hair bow out, freeing my hair.

I gave him a confused look and he smiled at me, "You know you should really keep your hair down every once in a while. You look great with it down." I smiled and nodded, and he bent down to my height, and leaned in pressing our lips together.

Smiling into the kiss, I unwrapped one of my hands from the swing and brought it to the back of his neck, to bring him closer. Our lips moved together for a while, before a sudden thought made me pull away, "What are we?"

Melo stood up and shrugged, "What do you want us to be?"

I want us to be a couple, I thought in my head. I couldn't say that though because what if he didn't want that too, what if I just made a big fool of myself. "I don't know." I looked down at the ground, as my face heated up.

"I'm about to say some soft shit, so don't hold this against me." I looked up at him confused, "I want you to be my girlfriend. I want you with all strings attached. I want you and all your glory, to be mine. So let me cuff you?" He let out a soft laugh at his last words.

I stood up and walked over to him, standing as tall as I could I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling his tall ass body down to me, pressing my lips to his, I kissed him for a little bit before I pulled away. "You know now that I'm yours, you're probably going to end up with a neck problem." I giggled at him, I was referring to our height difference, which was huge, he was over a foot taller than me.

"Or I could just do this." He quickly picked me up making me squeal, before he connected our lips once again.
