I saw you through my melted eyelashes
mascara running, eyes ablaze
Wondering how you could make my desire
flame up like a fire while turning me down
Not even sure how you could see me through
those icy walls, ten feet high
they're gone now, cold puddles under my feet
but still I stand frozen, watching you leave
You hurl those words into the air above me
like they're nothing
and I grasp at them
but they are nothing
so I decide to let them slip
and fall
onto the searing hot concrete, where they belong
this time I'm not choosing something so, so wrong
The ocean in my heart is full of salt
this tragedy isn't going to be my fault
mascara running, eyes ablaze
I run free from you and into the haze
