Chapter Twenty Nine

Rose finished up the last of the buttons on Zoe's dress and and Zoe went and stood in front of the mirror.

"Do you think Richard will like it?" Zoe asked looking at the wedding dress she had chosen.

"Zoe you look beautiful. Of course he will love it. Richard is besotted with you so even if you were to walk down that aisle in a garbage bag he would still think you looked beautiful" Rose replied.

"I guess it's just the wedding nerves hitting me" Zoe replied.

"That is bound to happen, just be sure to enjoy your special day. I remember on my wedding day being so nervous but seeing Kit waiting for me at the end of the aisle made it all worth it" Rose replied.

"You look stunning" Zoe replied to Rose who was already dressed in her green bridesmaid dress.

"You picked out well for me" Rose replied smiling.

When Richard had proposed to Zoe shortly after the birth of Archie, Zoe hadn't been able to believe it. The past twelve months had been a complete whirlwind from the death of her brother to meeting Richard, to then singing a number one song to receiving three awards for that song. When her album had gone platinum she thought her life could not have ever got any better that was until the birth of her son Archie and now today she was about to marry the man who had given her everything. The love of her life.

The two girls had spent the morning together getting ready. Zoe had hired a hair and make up artist for them both and they had had a good laugh together. Now that Zoe was stood here in the dress ready the nerves were certainly hitting her. There came a knock at the door which Rose answered.

"Wow you look beautiful Zoe" Richard senior said as he walked into the room. "My son certainly is a lucky man."

"I am the lucky one to have him" Zoe replied as she took the bouquet of flowers Rose was holding out for her.

"Are you ready then?" He asked holding his arm out for Zoe to link through. Zoe linked his arm and they made their way out of the room and the hotel.

Zoe and Rose had got ready at a hotel a couple of buildings away from the church whilst Richard had got ready at home with Kit. So Zoe only had a very short walk with Rose and Richard senior to the church.

"Thank you again Richard for agreeing to give me away" Zoe said as they arrived outside the church.

"It is my honour" Richard replied. "I see you as my daughter anyway."

They were greeted at the church doorway by the vicar who then went in to start proceedings. The three of them stood outside until they heard the music start and then with her arm linked in Richard's she began her walk down the aisle with Rose following behind. All their guests turned to look at her as she entered. Smiles on all their faces. She saw Archie in Pat's arms and give him a little wave. Then as she looked at the end of the aisle she saw Richard stood besides Kit. They had both chosen to stick with Richard's Scottish heritage and were both wearing kilts.

Just at the sight of him Zoe just couldn't help but smile. She was about to marry her soul mate. Life couldn't have been more perfect.

"You look beautiful" Richard whispered into Zoe's ear as Richard senior gave her away to him. The ceremony went beautifully. As they said they vows to each other Zoe could help but let a tear fall down her cheek as she stood before her one true love. As the vicar said,

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride." Richard leant forward and pulled Zoe into a deep kiss taking Zoe's breath away. As she found her breath again she heard Richard say,

"I love you Mrs Madden"

"I love you too Mr Madden" Zoe replied.
