Denki and his impossible crush

The Plan

Denki could feel his entire world crashing down around him for a second time. Kirishima has a crush on..Bakugo? Bakugo of all people?!? What did he have that Denki didn't! He had abs, he was strong, he was a lot nicer than-

Kirishima gave Denki a concerned look. "Bro? Are you ok?" He placed his left hand on Denki's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him somehow.  Denki put on the best fake smile he could muster even though there were tears in his eyes. "Y-yeah man...that's awesome. Hope he feels the same about you.." Kirishima could tell that something was wrong but he didn't press. After that Kirishima made some excuse to leave but Kaminari didn't even listen.

Denki started at the forgotten game of Super Smash Bros in disgust. Of fucking course that had to be Kirishima's favorite game. Denki crashed into his bed face first. Why did Kirishima have to like Bakugo? Why couldn't it be easy for him? Why didn't Kirishima feel that way about him? What can he do to make Kirishima like him?

Light bulb.

Denki quickly reached for his phone and texted Sero.

Sparky: come over.

Tapeface: why?

Sparky: I have a plan.

Tapeface: for?

Sparky: I'm gonna win over Eijiro

Tapeface: .....be there in 5

Sparky: see ya soon

Before Denki did anything else he turned off the tv he couldn't bare to even look at it. Everything in his room seemed to remind him of Kirishima. It was driving him insane, he almost missed the knock at his door. Sero spoke from outside the door. "Yo Denki let me in! I'm slightly worried about you! Open the-" Denki opened the door to meet Sero face to face. Sero immediately looked concerned. Denki looked like a wreck, his hair was every which way (more than usual), his face was red, and he looked like he was on the verge of tears.

Sero stepped inside the room and closed the door. He then leads Denki over to the bed to sit down. "I know that you were gonna tell me your plan but...you look pretty upset. What happened?" Denki looked up to the other boy with a few tears falling down his face. "He..Eijiro...came out to me..a-and he said that...he had a crush...on Bakugo. Is there something wrong with me? W-what does Bakugo have that I don't?" 

Sero was completely still for a moment processing what he had just said. After a few moments, he spoke softly, "Kaminari...you can't compare yourself to Bakugo. If you really love Kirishima you have to win him over. You can't change how he feels about Bakugo but you can change the way he feels about you." Denki nodded along to what he was saying. "Doesn't Bakugo have a thing for Deku anyways? Even if Kirishima likes Bakugo, Bakugo likes someone else."

Denki perked up at that. "You're right..I didn't even think about that..oh Kirishima is gonna be heartbroken." He smiles at Sero, "I guess I'll have to be there to comfort him, right?"

"Woah, woah now. You can't just wait around for Bakugo to reject him. Ok? You gotta win him over before that can happen."

Denki gave him a puzzled look. "What do you mean? How can I win Kirishima over?"

Sero sighed before he began to speak, "I don't know man. Hold the door open for him, bring him snacks, work out with him. Just show him that you care about him in a more than friend type way....but like without saying it."

Denki flopped back onto his bed and stared up at the ceiling. "Sero why does this have to be so hard? Why can't he just be in love with me and we live happily ever after?"

Sero laid down next to him. "Because man, this isn't some fairytale world where you get everything you want. This is real life and it sucks sometimes. You just have to roll with it and make it the best it can be."

Denki laughed and looked over at him. "Wow, that was like..deep. I should come to you for advice more often."

Sero joined in on his laughing. "Shut up..I wasn't even trying that hard."

They sat like that for god knows how long before Denki said, "Hey man wanna play Super Smash Bros while you're over? I already have it all set up I just have to turn it on." Sero nodded so Denki got up and turned on his tv. When he saw the home screen of the game he didn't feel the same sadness as he had before. He felt excited to win over Kirishima.

"Hey Sparky, stop smiling at the tv like that you're freaking me out a little bit. You didn't short circuit did you?"

"What no! I was just thinking about Kirishima. This is his favorite game after all"

"Aw man ,you really got it bad for him don't you?"

"Yes I really do"

Sero didn't end up staying over to play video games that long. It was a school night and Denki was very excited to start winning over Kirishima. All he had to do was wait till morning.
