The sun shone bright over the kingdom of Adeir as it awaited the arrival of fellow kings, hoping to create an alliance between them. Princess Elvira paced her bedroom awaiting to hear from her mother about the meeting. The princess twisted her fingers around her long, wavy, auburn hair as the anxiousness filled her. She still wore her leather armour from her early training with the other warriors in the kingdom, but she didn't care. Elvira would rather be seen in her armour than a dress her mother forced her to wear.

She continued to pace around the room until she heard the sound a her door opening. In the door stood her mother, Queen Fidelia. The queen stood tall as she looked at her daughter with a distasteful look.

"What are you wearing Elvira? A princess should not wear armour when a meeting is being held." She moved from the doorway and went to a chair in a corner of the room with a dress on it. The dress was made for Elvira and the meetings of princes from across the realms, but she had no intention to wear it. Especially on a day as important as this.

"But mother, I am going to be the only princess who is next in line for the throne there. I have to be wearing this and not that ridiculous dress meant for parties." Elvira gave a pleading look as her mother walked closer to her.

"You can wear your armour, but only for the meeting," the princess hugged her mother, "And remember, do as your father says, and don't let the other kings and princes tell you that you are an unfit ruler. If they do, prove them wrong." The queen has always been supportive of her daughter and her interest of being a warrior, along with her father, but the queen also knew the others would scoff at her for wanting to fight.

"I will mother. Are they arriving soon?" Elvira questioned, placing her sword in the scabbard around her waist.

"Any moment now. So let's go and welcome the kings." And with that, the two ladies left the room and made their way to the castle doors.

Elvira stood between her mother and her father, King Daemon of Adeir, fierce and noble protector of the realm. The king for years has helped protect the realm from great threats and has lived up to his name by doing so. His tall, strong and big stature was handy in battle, but also made him a target. The scars on his arms and chest still remained from the bloodiest war any of the realms have ever seen. But the king said that the scars showed the story of how he survived and didn't really fret about them.

As the royal family stood at the palace doors, the king turned to his only child, "Now Elvira, at this meeting I want you to prove what you know about war. Don't be afraid to share opinions or ideas. Just say whatever comes to mind. Unless it's something that will get us into war." The king chuckled and so did Elvira.

"I promise I will father."

The king patted her shoulder before turning back to the courtyard to see that some of the other kings and princes have started to arrive. King Daemon walked down the palace steps with the princess by his side. Her green eyes squinted slightly due to the brightness of the sun, but she still kept her head held high. The two of them stood at the bottom of the stairs as the first king and prince walked towards the palace.

"Beautiful day in the kingdom for a meeting, King Daemon." The king wore a royal blue robe with a gold lining. Under the robe, you could partially see silver armour. Elvira knew this king all to well. This was King Alistair, a man notorious for his military; handy for wars.

"'Tis Alistair. Good to see you again." Daemon shook Alistair's hand firmly, with a stern look on his face.

"Good day your majesty. I don't know if you know me or not but I am Princess Elvira, next in line for the throne of Adeir." Elvira held out her hand, but Alistair just looked at it and then at Daemon. Almost like he couldn't believe the gesture. Elvira took her hand away and rested it at her side.

"I don't mean to be rude your highness, but are you joining the fellow kings and princes for the war meeting?" The boy asked.

"I'm sorry but what is your name?" Elvira asked.

The boy chuckled lightly, " I am prince Edmund, next in line for the throne of Migonia."

"Well, prince Edmund, as the only heir to the throne of Adeir I find it my duty to attend these war meetings to discuss the military's of each kingdom. I also see it as an opportunity to meet potential allies who are willing to help with the finances needed for the kingdom and its people along with military. Please don't question my position because I do believe that I am meant to be here." She gave a small smirk to the prince as he looked at her with a bit of surprise. Her father chuckled.

The king cleared his throat, "Well, Elvira, why don't you show King Alistair and Prince Edmund to the war room."

"Of course father," Elvira gestured her hand for them to follow, "Please follow me."
