*it was a dark night. the stars were burning so bright. and there on the highway, a car rushed a hundred miles per hour. seemingly running away from something. or rather, someone.*

*woohoos* They'd have to be way faster than that if they wanted to catch us. God I got scars all over me.

*the boy was met with silence from the passenger side.*

You're just gonna stay silent aren't you. *scoffs* We're a long way from home, Emery, you can't keep doing that the whole ride.

*Again, silence.*

Fine, be like that. Nice to know you haven't moved on.

*by that time, the girl was bubbling with hatred for the boy. she knew she'd eventually have to say something in order for him to stop assuming. and possibly keep quiet.

Would you ever stop talking? We barely got out with our lives.

*the girl's voice was laced with sarcasm.*

*archer scoffs, not believing he was talking to the girl he loved.*

What's gotten into you? Yes we barely got out with our lives, the main reason why we should talk more. What happened last december-

Should not be discussed. *pause* Just shut the fuck up and drive. Please.

*emery turns to the window. archer sighs in defeat and does what he's told.*

Where are we?

I thought you said we're not gonna talk?

Where are we?

*sighs* We're in Oregon. Just got out of the outskirts of Washington.

What?

We're in Oregon. La Grande. We're 36 hours away from Ohio.

What's with them that they took us all the way to Oregon?

Actually Washington but okay.

I don't care if its Washington or Oregon its still from west to east.

Okay, okay. Relax. I'll drive. Maybe if you want we can take a detour to Vegas. *pause* You always wanted to go to Vegas.

*archer was once again met with silence. his watch seemed so noisy when emery was quiet. he could hear the minutes ticking by.*

Yeah, sure. Let's go to vegas.

Now there's the Em that I know.
