What would I do without you?

[Cole and Lili have a few days off from filming. Lili is on her period and feels awful. Cole's out for the night with some of his friends]

It was 9:00 pm, heavily pouring down with rain outside, and Lili was snuggled up on the couch with a blanket watching TV. Her whole body ached and her cramps were so terrible she could barely move. Tears streamed down from her eyes. She felt like shit. The painkillers she had taken only an hour before weren't seem to be working and now the sharp pain below her stomach was almost unendurable.

Cole was out for the night with his friends. She would have gone as well but she thought it would be better to rest inside for the night. All she wanted was for Cole to come home and snuggle up next to her, comforting her and stroking her hair. This month's was really bad. Some months she feels amazing - no pain, no pills. Other months, all she wants to do is sink away and as much as she tried to tolerate the pain, she couldn't.

She sat there, huddled up for minutes on end, until her phone started to ring in the other room. Reluctantly, she stood up, still hunched over from the cramps and slowly walked over to her bedroom.

It was Cole. She picked up the phone immediately.

"Hey," she said, timidly.

"Hey, baby. How are you doing? I just wanted to call and check up on you," he replied, softly.

"Yeah... babe. I'm doing... fine."

Cole, in fact, knew her very well. So he could easily hear the hesitation and trembling in her voice.

"Lili, are you sure? You don't sound okay... Do you want me to come home?" he insisted.

It's just her period, she thought. She didn't want to ruin his night with his friends and told him that she was fine. She told him to have fun and not worry about her. Her head started to ache and, slowly, her vision began to go blurry.

"No, Lili... you don't sound fine at all... I'm on my way, my love. Hang in there. I love you."

She felt faint. And she started to sweat.

"I... love... you," she tried to reply back, but the room around her began to spin and the noise of the rain and the traffic outside started to drown out. She stumbled on her feet, lost her balance and fell down onto the bed.

Ten minutes later, Cole arrived at their apartment. He took off his coat, which was soaking wet and pulled off his shoes. He took his phone out of his coat pocket and slipped it into the pocket of his jeans.

"Lili?" he called out, walking down to the living room and kitchen. "Lils, I'm home." There was no reply. She must be in the bathroom, he thought and he walked over.

"Lili? " he said, knocking on the bathroom door. "Are you in there?" Again, no reply.

He started to worry. Lili wasn't ever like this. He started to search around for her frantically. She was nowhere to be seen.

He then ran upstairs into their bedroom. There she was lying on the bed. His heart dropped at once and he started to panic. He sprinted over to her and shouted her name, in case she was asleep. She didn't wake up.

Luckily, she was breathing and he heaved a sigh of relief. He checked her pulse and it was only a little slower than usual, but not dangerous in any way. He began to shake her lightly and called out her name many times, yet kept as calm as possible.
