Third Person's Point of View

May 7, 2002 - Canada Airlines

A young girl about 10 years of age was walking happily with her beloved parents carrying her pink and shiny notebook full of doodles. They entered the airport and sat in a chair in the waiting area. The young girl wanted to show her drawing that she made a while ago to her dad but her dad was busy talking to the person at the counter while her mother was busy talking to someone on the telephone. The young girl looked down and disappointed. She then continued drawing in her notebook. 'Why won't they notice me? I work hard for this. Hmmp' she thought while drawing.

"Where are you?! We already arrived" The girl's mother asked.

"Jeez, calm down your gonna hurt my ear. I got stuck but I'll be there in 10 mins" someone on the phone.

"Your still a sleepyhead like you were before, well be waiting here then. Just hurry up" she ranted.

"You know you should spend more of your time with your daughter, I know you're gonna miss her."the person said.

"We can't really give our full attention to Jessy because of work but I know you understand" she answered

"Your not going to change your mind are you?" The person asked

"My decision is final. I know she'll be happier with you"

"Yeah right. I'm almost there, keep waiting." The person said and then they both hung up. The mother approached her daughter Jessy and sat next to her.

Jessy looked curious, "Mom who were you talking to?" She asked with her cute dolly voice.

Her mother gently pat her head and answered "your Aunt Zella, She's my sister. Do you remember her?"

"Yeah, she's in the picture you showed me and she was carrying a rolled blanket" Jessy said.

Her mother chukled "It wasn't a rolled blanket you silly. It was her baby, your cousin Cowel". Jessy looked a bit upset.

"Uhhm mom, since I'm going to live with them does that mean I'm going to take care of Cowel? Ya know, change his diapers and all that?" She asked her mother

"No, they will treat you like a princess and you will just look out for Cowel. Besides, he doesn't wear diapers anymore and I'm sure your gonna be close with him. Treat him like a brother OK?"

Jessy nodded as an answer and asks "are you and dad gonna visit me when I get there?"

"Well, me and daddy will work here but we are going to give you letters like we promised" answered by her mum.

Jessy looked happy when her mother cheered her up. After their conversation, her dad finished talking to the person at the counter and then approached them.

"Are you ready princess?" Jessy's dad asked

"Dad, stop calling me princess I'm not five" she protested in a cute way

"Nah, your still a princess to me. Here's you ticket, be careful with it alright?" he gave her ticket to her.

"Yeah" she said

"Oh my gosh! Is that the little Jessy we know? You've grown tall!" A woman shouted. She came from the entrance.

"Finally your here!" Jessy's mom

"Ya missed me did ya? Give me a hug sis" Zella then hugged her

"Your embarrassing" Jessy's mum said and hugged her back

"Hmmp! Jessy come hug aunty Zella" Jessy ran towards her and gave her a tight hug

"Do want anything before we go?" Zella asked Jessy
