Jessie's POV
'10:00' okay, I have an hour and 30 minutes and it usually takes me 30 minutes to get ready and it takes 15 minutes to get to Tesca's Brunch. So I have 45 minutes to myself. I sat at the chair of the piano at the corner of my living room. Playing random melodies and singing words that pops in my head.
"We may not have all the answers, ohh,
I know that we can change some of the things that are beyond our control.
And the vision of us may be blurry,
But use your heart to see.
Just follow the beat, the rhythm will lead you right back to me.
Sometimes it's a game of give and take.
It's easy to break,
But hold on and wait,
Have a little faith. Ohhh-oo.
I will go dow" -RING!
I was interrupted by the sound of my door bell. I stood up, irritated that I was cut off, and walked slowly to my front door. Who ever it is will get a beating from me. I opened the door and my eyes widen at the sight, a smile came to my lips, "Ginger!" I exclaimed, giving him a hug, which I assume was shocking considering he froze for a second.
Ed's POV
I felt my body froze as she hugged me. "Hey, Jess." I said. "Come in!" She exclaimed as she made a gap for me to walk through. Man, She was still beautiful as ever. She was wearing a white louse T-shirt saying, 'Bad-Cop' and some light blue deniem shorts. Her hair was in her usual Bob with purple ends.
I stepped in, and I gasp as I took in the sight in front me. Her walls were white and the floors were a polished wood. White windowed doors, a huge plasma screen T.V. and some white sofas. It was huge, and I haven't even seen all of it. I wouldn't mind living here. Wait, What the hell am I thinking? "You're here early," Jessie stated, "oh, well umm, I didn't know where we were suppose to go, and I didn't have your number so I thought I might as well ask you in person."
She smiled at me and walked to the couch, gesturing for me to follow, and I did. "Well, we have 40 minutes to ourselves," she started, "so, what do you want to do?" I looked around, and there was a huge wooden white piano. A grin tugged at my lips, "Do you- do you play the piano?" Jessie looked over her shoulder and stared at what I was looking at, "Yeah, why?" She asked, turning back to look at me.
Jessie's POV
"Yeah, why?" I asked, turning to look at him. His eyes gleamed in excitement, "can you play me some tunes?" I mimicked his smile and answered, "sure, why not?" So I stood up, again, and sat on the stool. Ed followed me and sat on a beanbag behind me, I rested my fingers on a key, and a smile escaped my lips. My fingers seemed to move on their own, matching the key of my voice. I sang, and for those 2 minutes, I felt like I was in my own little world. It was magical.
The song ended and I pressed the last few keys. Ed started to clap slowly, "that was amazing." He said, "and I'm not just saying that to make you feel comfortable but I mean it." He mumbled. "Th-thanks." I managed to say. "Can I try?" Ed suggested. "You play? Then yes! Of course!" I exclaimed. Ed and I swapped spots and I listened to him play and sing.
He finished and I was in awe, honestly it was amazing. "Tha-that was majestic." I mumbled, and I really meant it. "Not as good as you though." He said. I laughed. After all that, 35 minutes past, and I asked Ed if I could go to get ready, and I told him to make himself at home.
Ed's POV
I was sat in the white sofa, damn, it was comfortable. I looked around and a picture caught my attention, it was of a young Jessie and a man, his dad I guess, standing in front of a garden. It looks like she was about 10yrs old. Aww, she was so cute back then, but now, she's gorgeous. She had shoulder length honey-brown hair, and it wasn't the Bob she usually had. She was wearing a pale creamy, knee high dress. I looked at more pictures and all of them seemed like she was free and happy. But sometimes, when I look her in the eye, all I see is emptiness.
Like when she opened the door this morning, her eyes had nothing in them, but later on, it began to have meaning. I was cut off in my thoughts by a voice, "wow, that only took me 15 minutes. That's a record for me." I turned around and I was mesmerised by the sight, Jessie's hair was in the Bob it was from this morning. She was wearing a white shirt saying, 'eyes on my face, please' and some black shorts and converse. Damn, this girl is hot when she wears converse. "What do you think? Is this appropriate for the legend, Tom Jones?" She said air quoting the 'legend' in the sentence. I laughed, "The shirt might be a bit inappropriate for him."
"Then that's perfect." She smiled. I returned the favour and opened the front door for her. We got into my car, and we talked for minutes. All of them about, the crazies things we've done, worst relationships, who's friends are more crazier, our most awkward moment and most embarrassing moment. Things that don't usually get talked about on your 3rd time meeting a person.
When I'm around her, I feel like I can open up to her. Like there are no limits to how much I can tell her. I can tell her everything, except for one thing.
I can't tell her that I love her.
So, OPINIONS please!
Originally, I was thinking of putting the lunch with Tom in this chapter but When I typed That sentence, "I can't tell her that I love her." I couldn't bring myself any further. I felt like that was a perfectly good spot to end the chapter. I know that this chapter's short. But hey, what can you do?
