From the very first time I laid my eyes on Katherine Steadworth, I knew she was different. She had an unearthly beauty, a kind of beauty that oozed danger. There was just something about her. Something alluring; maybe it was her innocence, maybe it was her kindness, I don't know, but whatever it was, it was enchanting as a rose with thorns. She was my rose with thorns. With flaws but nonetheless, beautiful.
I was going to see her today again. Finally, I would tell her how I feel about her. How my heart thumps whenever she was around, how seeing her was like taking a fresh new breath, how she inhabited my thoughts for the majority of the time.
I was going to kiss her. Since yesterday, that was all I thought about. How were her lips going to feel on mine? Would they be as soft as they seem? I had imagined them to taste like roses. Is that odd? Lips tasting like roses? Anyway, I can't wait. I had only kissed a few girls back at the village but I hadn't attached anything to the kisses but I was sure that this would be different.
She had said something about her having the "death touch". I can't be too sure as I wasn't listening, instead too enthralled by her. I know I should have listened to what she was saying wholeheartedly as it seemed important but I couldn't help it. Whenever she was around, I couldn't concentrate on anything other than her, plus she didn't seem to notice.
I would still kiss her though, even if I ended up dying. At least, I would die in the hands of my beloved. In the hands of the lonely girl in the woods, I had come to love.
What more could a guy ask for?
Hi guys, I decided to add this chapter because I knew how many of you loved Katherine and Xander's story and were unhappy with the ending. I hope this bonus chapter can serve as a closure of a sort, not all book have to end with a happy ending 😏. Oh and there is a new book I am starting, it's also a short story.
