"Book"
Shouldn't
Couldn't
Can't
exist in the dictionary anymore.
It should be replaced by
Ebook, audiobook, Facebook.
The definition? A theft,
The thief? A modern world.
Too modern that innovation means technology,
Not research and creation through books.
No longer are noses buried in books for hours,
But noses are glued to phones,
Smelling the instant gratification that lasts for
One
Second.
But when there is a possibility that 10,000 seconds could be used
To escape to a world built by books,
ready to be enveloped with excitement,
Not escape to a perfect world built by fakes,
Why do we waste the opportunity?
The chance is gone just like that (snap)
And it's as if Thanos just snapped.
White on black instead of black on white,
We can choose the settings
But not the settings
Where anything
Takes place.
We need to read
And feel as the character kneels
Before the king ere his execution.
But why does it matter
When we can find a video
Of the scene
Instead of
Read?
My uncle says
Books are the best gift of knowledge.
But uncle,
With knowledge at our fingertips
What do we do now?
How do we learn the way we should?
Books are beautiful, the bounty of words full of bliss
Yet
audiobooks are like the Grinch of learning.
What can we do now?
What do we have left?

An audiobook
Shhh
It's not the same
Facebook

It's not the same.
So is it true that the modern world
Makes life better?
Makes life easier?
Makes life happier?
