(9) A Nice Break

Once Addison returned home she received letters from UNC NYU and University of Tennessee that all wanted her for their nursing program. She looked into Ansley's room as she napped then she remembered the fight with her grandma. She pulled out her cellphone and called UNC and accepted their offer.

Meanwhile back in NY James came into Bryson's office. "I was thinking." James said as he sat down.

"That's never good." Bryson said

"Haha..I was thinking that we haven't done something in awhile a big family vacation. When was the last time we took everyone out to Lake Tahoe. " James said

"I do believe the last time we went was before me and Susan had Addison." Bryson said

"Well then let's go all of us Addison and her adorable little girl included. " James said

"Sounds good to me. I could use that right now." he said

"I know." James said

They got on the website that they use to use and found a house big enough for everybody. They put a deposit on it and then made the phone calls. Bryson called Addison as she was making Ansley some hot dogs.

"Hey dad" she said

"Hey baby I wanted to let you know that me and Jame have decided to give everyone a break and we all go out to Lake Tahoe. We found a house big enough for everybody." Bryson said

"Um dad I can't go..I accepted my offer from UNC. Classes start in two weeks." she said

"Addie baby call them back you need to come home. Who gives a crap what June thinks you aren't making me look bad." he said

She looked down

"Come on Addie you will love it." he said

"Okay fine.. then you help me figure out college." she said then hung up.

Bryson fixed her college problem and got her offer into NYU School of Nursing offer accepted. She got her and Ansley packed for the trip to Lake Tahoe and drove them to the Atlanta airport a few days later.

She landed at the airport with Ansley on her hip and carry on bag. She was looking for her dad when she spotted Bucky with his parents then saw her dad. "I was going to meet you at the gate but you never told me your flight number." Bryson said

"Phone died." She said then she found her suitcase Bucky saw her trying to not wake up Ansley. "Here I got it." Bucky said

"Oh thanks James." she said with a smile.

They got loaded up with rental cars and headed to the cabin.

They all pulled in and got out of their cars. James and Bryson took deep breathes "Peace and Quiet and not a single city sound this will be good for everyone a nice break from life." James said

Addison shook her head then she felt Ansley tug on her hand "Mama I gotta go potty."

"Yeah James speak for yourself" Addison said as she followed her dad as he unlocked the door for her. Bucky started laughing and said "She told you dad."

She got Ansley to a bathroom and she peed then she was about to get her stuff when Bucky came in and said "Did you pick a room?'

"I um yeah.. this one with the double bed." she said

He put her suitcases in the room "Thanks James you didn't have to do that but thank you." she said

"Not a problem." he said then he walked out of her room.

"Where's pop pop mama." Ansley said

"Let's go find pop pop shall we." Addison said

"POP POP!!" Ansley yelled as Addison held her as they walked through the cabin.

"POP POP!!" she yelled again.

Bryson came up the stairs with James. "Pop Pop where are you" Ansley said as they stood in the living room.

He came up behind them "Boo." Bryson said and she screamed "POP POP" and went to him. "Were you looking for me." he said

"Yes." Bryson said

Bucky came into the living room and smiled as he watched Ansley laugh and giggle with Addison and Bryson. Becca said "Brooklyn not coming?'

"No.. she has class." he said as he snapped back to reality.
