Chapter Twenty Six

Excuse the mistakes!!

"Go home Tana" she heard Trae voice in her head as she watched King's blood go down the drain in the shower. "Go shower and come back if the doctor comes out I'll tell them not to give out any information until you get here"

Santana cried the whole time in the shower as she washed her body. When she was done she rubbed her hand through her hair and looked up at the ceiling before closing her eyes again, praying to God. Tears mixed in with the water on her face as she thought about what happen.

Watching King take his last breath right in front of her eyes in her arms was traumatizing.

She turned off the shower and stepped out grabbing her towel, drying off. She headed to the bedroom and frowned seeing the small black box he had on her pillow. When she came home and practically ran to her bedroom to shower that was the first thing she saw.

She walked over to it and picked it up, debating to open it. This night was supposed to be special and now everything was falling apart. Taking a deep breath she opened the box seeing a 24 carat ring with the biggest diamond she ever seen.

With tears flowing down her cheek she took the ring out and slid it on her left ring finger. She wiped her face and walked to in her closet. She threw on a bra and panties before throwing on some sweatpants and t shirt. She threw her hair into a bun, grabbed her phone and walked out heading downstairs greeted by one of the securities.

"You alright Tana?" Leon asked as she put on her coat.

She nodded her head, "Yeah I'm fine, I'm sorry about Andre" she said talking about the bodyguard who died trying to save King. "I know ya two were pretty close you can take a few days off"

"It's alright he did what he had to do" Leon responded back. She nodded her head and walked outside into the freezing code night heading to the black Escalade. She hopped inside and looked over at her good friend. They both shared a small smile before he closed the door for her. He double tapped the truck letting the driver know to drive off.

The whole car ride to the hospital, tears continued to flow down her cheeks. The driver heard her sniffing and passed her a small pack of tissue from the glove compartment.

"Thank you" she sniffed.

As soon as they got to the hospital, she stepped out. She walked inside seeing still everybody sitting in the waiting room. His parents, Trae, Chanel, Dex, Flaco, Khalil, and Cash. Even her father was there sitting along with Junior who was grazed by a bullet.

"Look there's mommy" Cash smiled turning Ailani around. Everybody turned their heads and seen Santana walked over to them. Once Ailani seen Santana she smiled, brightening up her night.

"Hey mamas...why you so happy?" Santana whispered to her daughter taking her out of his hands. Ailani started talking back loudly getting everybody attention. "Oh yeah...I missed you...I love you" Santana continued sitting down next to him. "Where's August?"

"Nando and Priscilla has him"

"Did the Doctor come out?"

"Nah not yet" he answered.

Santana stared at her daughter and thought about her talking and laughing with King this morning in bed. Seeing him interact with his kids always made her happy because she loved seeing that side of him.

I'll give you a reason for loving if you give me a reason for living, she thought seeing King's eyes in Ailani's staring back at her. She couldn't help but smile softly as she finally realized what he meant.

She couldn't believe what was happening right now. Everything was going so good in her life and now it was turned upside down. She couldn't help but think about her dream and the black rose somebody gave her.

Those were the signs, she thought to herself.

"You alright?" Cash asked her bringing her back to reality.

"Yeah just still in shock that's all" she answered. She sat back and planted kisses on her daughters face making her laugh out loud. Everybody in the room couldn't help but smile listening to Ailani talk and play with her mother.

A few minutes flew by and they were growing tired and impatient until they saw a black man wearing a white coat coming out.

"Lowell" the doctor called out walking into the waiting room. Everybody stood up and walked over to the doctor hoping, praying that King survived.

"Is this everybody?" He asked.

"Yeah man please just tell us what we need to know" Dex said calmly.

The doctor nodded his head. "He's a fighter, he pulled through" he confirmed as they all let out a breath of fresh air. "We managed to removed all the bullets specially the one by his heart" he told them. "He lost a lot of blood so we had to do a blood transfusion he also has a small bullet fragment a few centimeters away from his heart, right now he's still under but he will be fine but-"

"But what?" Santana asked hearing Ailani cooing in her ear.

"Since he lost a slight oxygen flow to the brain there is a possibility he might fall into a coma-"

"A coma?" His mother asked. "For how long?"

"We can't test that it can be days, week, months sometimes years but we aren't sure that will happen that's just a possibility"

"Can we see him?" Natalia asked.

The doctor looked at everybody and nodded his head, "Yeah but only two people at a time"

Seven nodded his head, "That's fine, Santana you can go first" he insisted.

"Come with me" the doctor said. She gave Ailani a kiss on the cheek and passed her to Dex. She followed the doctor through double doors into another hallway. The walk felt forever to Santana and as soon as she got to his room she hesitated to open the door.

She walked into the room and seen King laying on the bed with wires and tubes coming from his body.

Beep...Beep...Beep

The heart monitor machine was the only noise that was filling the room. She walked closer to him and grabbed his hand feeling how cold it was. Grabbing a chair she pulled it closer and sat down next to him. Seeing him like this was hard for her and she started to feel tears building up in her eyes.

"I'll give you a reason for loving if you give me a reason for living" she said saying the poem he sent her when she was working at the beauty shop. "You remember that? At first I thought it was corny but now I know what you meant" she sniffed looking at the ring. "The ring is beautiful and I can't wait to marry you" she continued wiping the tears away.

After everybody had their turn seeing King, Santana decided to stay with him and his parents agreed to watch Ailani until he's ready to go home from the hospital.

"Bye mamas...I'll see you tomorrow okay" she said giving her kiss on her forehead before placing her carefully in her car seat. "Call me if anything happen"

"Okay you too" Natalia said as she gave her a hug as everybody was getting ready to leave.

"Hi I'm here to bring the guest up to the patient room with me" the nurse said getting their attention.

"I'll bring you clothes tomorrow" Chanel said to Santana as they hugged. She hugged the rest of the guys and followed the nurse.

"Flaco take Chanel home for me" Trae demanded before walking away but she grabbed his arm.

"Where you going?" She asked. He snatched away from her and started to walk through the double doors but she grabbed him again. "Answer me...please?"

Chanel knew Trae like the back of her hand, she knew he was about to go out and paint the city red trying to find out who shot his right  hand man.

"You'll be safe with security at the house go get TJ and keep everything locked up" he responded pulling away from her.

"But Trae..." Chanel started to say as he walked away from her. She watched him walk out the hospital along with Dex and Khalil with tears in her eyes.
