When we finally made it home India still had not  shut up about her new friend Ky , I barley understood her talking, well more like speed yelling but I was nice to see her this happy to meet someone new.

The crazy little girl got excited about absolutely anything from rocks to ponies but she was my crazy little girl and that's all that mattered plus what can I say the small apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"What do you wanna eat for dinner babe?" I asked India softly as she finished her story off taking a deep breath before answering me.

   "Pancakes!" she yelled

"I asked what you wanted to eat for dinner not breakfast." I responded chuckling

"Spaghetti please." she mumbled clearly upset that she couldn't eat a breakfast food for her dinner to night, something we did on Saturday nights.

"Stop pouting would ya , Saturdays right around the corner." I told her leaving a kiss on her forehead before taking her shoes off and placing them by the door. " Go take off your school clothes and come down so you can help me cook alright bub."

"Alright mama!" she shouted running to her room with the sound of her small feet hitting the ground beneath her socks

"Walk India , I'm not gonna tell you again." I yelled behind her hearing the noise stop, sometimes I think she just forgets that there are people who are under but like I've said before she is my daughter.

Making my way to the kitchen I start to take out the ingredients for dinner tonight while turning on my speaker and playing "Members Only: Vol 4". I had already changed into sweats and a t-shirt before going to get India from school knowing that if I didn't start cooking when i first got home i would start late and India would be up after her bed time which leads to her being cranky in the morning which i don't wanna deal with. Last week she had the nerve to tell me she was dropping out of school because she was tired of having to get up early to hang out with "them stanky kids" , her words not mine, I've e created a monster! i wanted to whoop her ass but could i blame her maybe those kids do stink. I'm not the one spending five days a week with them

"Mama help I cant reach the sink." i heard behind me, at least i taught her well she knows to wash her hands before coming into my kitchen or any kitchen for that matter.

I grabbed her stool and placed it in front of the sink where she could reach on her own reaching for my phone on the counter that was playing the familiar FaceTime ringtone, wondering who would calling me since i only knew two people : my mom who I barely talked to and my landlord who was also my boss who weirdly still had a flip phone.

"Cello?"

"Hey bitch did you pick up the baby on time? "

"No , Lennox i left her at daycare they said they would keep her from now on."

"No need to be sassy, I was just asking ,you have spaghetti sauce on your face by the way."

"What can I do you for baby cakes?"

"Remember when I told you that DJ and I were having sorta like having a kickback to celebrate finally moving all our stuff into the new house?"

"Yeah it's this Saturday right?" I asked raising an eyebrow confused , we had just talked earlier about it some big shindig her and her boyfriend were having to commemorate the new place that was being thrown by Dj's best friend.

" So what are you doing on Saturday." she asked wiggling her eyebrows at me with a big smile.
