"Sir, Rose; Rose, Sir" said Chad sharply.
"Hi Ian"
"Ahhh Rose, it's great to see you! I'm so pleased that you cared to join us. Welcome to the Assassinateurs building, we're all very happy to welcome you here!"
Ian Lambert was a lot more genuine than yesterday and he had a much kinder and warmer smile painted on his face. I gave him a quick smile back at his warm welcome and then glanced to the gorgeous man beside him. Ian must've picked up on me doing so,
"I see you've noticed Lucas here. Please introduce yourself."
"Hi I'm Lucas," oh my god his voice was so deep and sultry, it was husky yet smooth; harsh yet soft. It was like all his words just rolled of his tongue with such ease.
"I am 19 years old and have been an assassin here at Assassinateurs for 2 years. Ian is my uncle. I helped him start this place. He had the money and I had the plan."
"Wow that's cool. I'm Rose and I'm 17. I've never killed anyone before but I'm world champion in karate. I've been fighting since I was 8 and Ian told me to come here. Uhm... nice to meet you." I'm not a smiler but fuck did this boy make me smile. I stuck my hand out for him to shake and he gripped my hand firmly. We held eye contact the whole time. I guess it was kinda weird.
Lucas' pov
I'd just finished talking to my uncle about my last job and all he was doing was criticising me as usual. His criticism is always so harsh and borderline aggressive but he says it's going to make me do a better job next time and I guess a better job is a job well done right?
There was a knock at the door before it swung open and Chad was stood with someone behind him. He stepped to the side and revealed a girl. A fucking beautiful girl. She had long, blonde hair that was perfectly curled and pulled back into a long ponytail. Her body was a slight hourglass shape; a small waist and wider hips. Her lips where full and she had bright blue eyes that were topped with perfectly shaped eyebrows. She was just stunning.
My uncle knew her. He must've invited her here but why?
She glanced at me and I'm pretty sure she caught me staring. Soon enough my uncle told me to introduce myself. Once I'd done so, she introduced herself to me.
Rose.
A beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Not that I would tell her that because that would be weird.
"Cool, well it's nice to meet you."
Ian spoke up, "Lucas could you take Rose for a little tour of the important parts and give the run down of everything?" A slight smirk and raise of his eyebrows crossed his face as he slightly stressed the words 'important parts'.
Ew.
"Yeah of course," I signalled to the door, "right this way ma'lady." She looked at me as if to say 'seriously?' But soon enough a small smile was on her face and she led the way out the door.
We started to walk down the corridor, "so welcome, it's great to have you and I'm glad you took up my uncles offer to join us."
She gave me a slight smile, "yeah, I was quite sceptical to be honest because, well, it was a weird offer? But yeah I'm honestly quite glad I came too because it looks like we could be having some fun very soon, hm."
By now we were wondering down the staircase. Approaching the foyer, I pointed out a screen to her. Once we reached it I explained it's use.
"So this is the iPad that tells you what jobs there are to do and who they're assigned to. If you have no jobs a Red Cross will come up next to your name in which case you can train or apply for the day off. If someone has a blue tick next to their name that means they're on a job and if their is a green tick next to your name then that means you have a job. If you do have a green tick then there is an arrow that you can click to give you all the information you need about the job. Is that cool?"
"Super cool!" She was so enthusiastic. She just seemed so genuinely happy to be here. Ugh I fall in love tooooo quickly, Jesus Christ.
Rose's pov
He was teaching me all about the 'jobs ipad' and it was all so interesting and high tech. He seemed so proud whilst talking about it and I guess I kind of watched and listened in awe making sure to take it all in. Soon enough, he finished explaining and led me round the corner. There was a wall full of keys and a load of cubby holes below them.
He pointed to one, "this will be your cubby hole and you can decorate it any way you wish. As for what's inside, you can keep anything you want in it," he opened it and pulled out a phone and a badge on the end of a land yard, "this an iPhone Xs - yes it is expensive - you use this for anything work related ONLY. All the starting contacts you need are on it except we have code names so here's a list of those names for you to learn. And then this is your identification badge. You must always wear this when in this building but NEVER when you are doing a job. Is that all okay?"
"It's brilliant. So is that all?" I was honestly so excited. All this technology was so cool and I already felt like I belonged, although I hadn't seen any of the other assassins yet which was kinda strange but I shrugged that thought off almost before I thought of it because we were moving onto the next place.
Lucas led me to a large elevator that had mirrors all around on white walls and a chequerboard floor. It too had a mini chandelier and a polished, white hand rail that lined the inside. He pressed the button for the top floor. Number 7.
The ride was obviously short so we didn't talk that much; I was honestly still trying to take in...well....everything.
Before you know it we were at the top floor but all it was was a long corridor with a room at the end. The corridor was symmetrical to the one I was led down earlier - where Ian's office is. And just like last time, I was led straight down to the office.
Lucas twisted the doorknob, "welcome to my office! Of course shared by my new partner," as he said that a wide, eye smile painted his face and one may or may not have crept onto mine too.
