"Hey, I just met you,

and this is crazy,

but here's my number,

so call me maybe?"

A few days had passed and it was now Wednesday. For the passed few days, Josephine had been practicing her egg frying skills as well as her coffee making ones... without a coffee maker of course.

Day after day, Jo could see her life coming to an end.

The hard work was killing her, when in reality it wasn't hard work at all.

It wasn't as if she was cleaning the whole house, washing clothes by hand, or even feeding chickens.

(Chickens could be considered domestic animals in Nigeria).

All she had to do was go to the market down the street and buy what was on the list Uncle Victor had given her and cook those ingredients after.

Jo checked herself in the mirror. She wore a ruby tank top with black yoga pants and Nike Air Maxs.

Calling out to Jonah, he started the car and opened up the door for her.

Jonah had become her good friend all the while she had been here.

Yes, a few days wasn't a long time to get to know each other, but they had, since they were the only people who stayed i n the house longer than five minutes.

They had played twenty questions, and after that they had played what he called After Round One, which was actually a primary school game, but that didn't deter her, as the game was as addictive as heroin.

"Off to the market, Josephine?"

She smiled sadly at him, indirectly telling him the answer.

"Okay then." Knowing more than to speak any more, he ended it at that.

The drive to the market was long. Lagos traffic was way wore than that of the one at home.

They reached the market, there were hardly any parking spaces so they had to look for where to park. Eventually they got a space,  and Jonah escorted her through the market.

"There is a particular woman that Boss likes to buy from. We call her Mama Caleb."

He checked the list. "We can buy the spinach, crayfish, salt, pepper and beans from her... but for the others we need to look through the market."

Josephine groaned. She didn't want to go anywhere in this market, but then again she had brought it upon herself when she decided to TP the principal's house.

"Yay! Let's go to Mama Caleb's shop!" She exclaimed, the sarcasm so palpable she could almost taste it.

"You never cease to make me laugh, Miss Josephine." Said Jonah.

She ignored his comment as she followed him through the market.

Men were touching her, getting her to buy their products.
