In Command

Ben stared out into the jungle, feeling strange. The fact that Hugo Reyes had chosen him as the new advisor proved a shock to him. After all he'd done to this man, he was still open for him. It was confusing to Ben. Why was this person so quick to forgive him?

"Hey, dude." Hurley said, startling Ben out of his thoughts

"Uh hi."

" Oh. Sorry, dude. I didn't mean to freak you out or anything. "

"Oh no. Just startled. No harm done." Ben said, keeping his usual stoic expression

Hugo nodded and looked out to where Ben had been staring.

"Sure is a pretty place."

"I agree." Ben paused "Hugo, why did you choose me? Yes I've been here a long time but.. After what I've done how do you know you can trust me?"

Hurley shrugged.

"Well.. I mean, you kept me from getting hit by a tree so how bad can you be at this point?"

Ben didn't say anything.

"I think you should get another chance."

Ben stared at Hugo for a minute before giving him a quick nod.

Hurley smiled at Ben's silent "thanks".

" I think we can make a good team. Like I said when we were with Locke, we're the craziest guys on this island. "
