The sky darkened-Cranetail knew this wasn't going to be a good day. "I'll make an announcement to the clan about this," Willowstar said, darkening her expression. "You can stay here if you want." Without any question, each cat stayed in the medicine cat's den.

"Let all cats old enough to hide in the grass join me at Highrock for a clan meeting!" The leader's yowl rushed through the ears of the cats among the opening of the camp. As soon as they had all gathered, she finally spoke.
"Today, as you all know, we were attacked by foxes. Our fellow medicine cats did a good job in favor to help out. But, that is not the point. While in the medicine den, it was discovered that we have been spied on." A ripple of gasps came about from the cats below. "Where did Sunwing go? And Cranetail, and Fogtail?" Steamwish asked his friend, Snakepaw. "I dunno.."

"And not only that, we were spied on by BoneClan. Tomorrow, at the gathering, we will be confronting them. As of now, I'd like to double the patrols, and keep everyone to at least stay in the camp for safety if for some reason we get raided."
"Clan meeting dismissed."

The cats scurried away, as the leader jumped down from the rock with all she had to say (woah that rhymed). Cranetail watched the medicine cat murmur something to Juniperpaw, and then she turned to the resting cats. "You'll be alright for now. You may go." All three cats slowly got up after their rest and walked on over to a familiar root where they would meet. "So, what are your thoughts on us being..spied on?" Fogtail asked them. "I just-I can't get wrap my head around why they would spy on us. Maybe for a future attack? To steal our territory?" Sunwing explained. Cranetail sighed, and shook her sad sadly. "Well, like said from the leader, we will be going to the clan gathering-which I'm sure there will be apprentices going too-and solve this mystery."
They all nodded. "Anyone hungry?" A sudden voice came a cat a few pawsteps away from the group. It was Steamwish, with Snakepaw. "I found them!-..oh." realized Snakepaw. "Me!" Sunwing hollered excitedly. They dropped 2 mice and a plump-sized rabbit at their paws. "Enjoy~" Streamwish smiled and walked away, brushing his tail on Cranetail's cheek. She immediately recoiled at the movement, and felt her ears getting hot. "Whatever, I'll take the mouse."

"Don't you think that was a little strange?" Fogtail asked, with a mouthful of rabbit still being eaten. "What do you think?" Cranetail retorted. She got up after eating and replied to herself, "I think I'm gonna go rest. You guys have fun."

~~~~~
It was the gathering.
It felt darker than before, but the sky glittered with bright, shining stars. It had begun to rain, and you could only hear the smallest whispers, along with the drops of the rain that splashed the dirt ground. Cat from each clan sat silently amongst themselves. Cranetail could tell this was no ordinary gathering. A pelt brushed against hers, as she whipped her head only to see that it was Steamwish. He was inviting her to sit with him. Steamwish proceeded to mumble something under his breath when Cranetail didn't move, but then just walked off to sit with Snakepaw.
   "Cranetail! Over here!" Fogtail hissed, and ran towards her, anxiously sitting down. "Steamwish clearly li-" She began, only to get cut off. "Today's not the time! Can't you see how tense everyone is? Obviously Toadstar is suspicious!" Cranetail hissed, watching as Fogtail looked over at the tall, menacingly brute leader. Toadstar is the leader of BoneClan. He's a white tom, speckled with tiny black and brown spots at the tips of his fur. And his eyes were just as scary as his deputy's; a hard, cold piercing blue. Beside him sat Willowstar, and then above them was the leader of MountainClan, Mallowstar; A pale tabby tom with emerald eyes. Suddenly Mallowstar whispered something to Willowstar, followed by a nodding. The clan leader yowled for silence, although there already was none.
"Mallowstar. Have anything to report?" Willowstar spoke coolly. It sent chills through Cranetail's spine. "Not really. Luckily, the stream has been supportive enough to give our clan fish when we can't get mouse, or thrush." Mallowstar's voice sounded tired, but confident. His tail motioned for Willowstar to speak. The sudden anger from her shocked everyone:
"Toadstar, has your clan been spying on us?" She hissed, though anxiety was pierced in her voice. Half of the BoneClan cats gasped and replied angrily. The MountainClan cats just shrunk back in dismay, clearly trying to stay out of it.
"What? We would never!"
"Yeah!"
"We have absolutely no reason to!"
"StarClan should be ashamed of your for saying th-"
"SILENCE!" Toadstar's deep voice shook the small clearing. His fur was fully fluffed out, arching his back before settling down. "Willowstar." He spoke calmingly, though everyone could tell his eyes were hard with anger. "We would have no reason to and no explanation as to why you think we are spying!" He yowled. "Sunwing, did you bring it?" Willowstar mumbled. All heads turned to the golden she-cat. "Y-Yes.." She stammered and moved over to her leader, dropping the piece of fur. Cranetail knew she would be mentioned next. "Then explain this!" Willowstar replied threateningly, but she knew she wasn't gonna get anywhere. The BoneClan leader hopped down from his rock and examined the piece of fur. "It's just a piece of fur! Wait..it's Finscar's. So what?" He snorted, looking back to all the cats. "Explain how it got from your clan to mine! You're all the way across the lake!" She yowled.
"Seriously?"
"That's ridiculous! It's called the wind, maybe?"
And then Mallowstar just sat there. Innocently.
"Alright Willowstar, what's up with you? Do you purposely wanna stir up trouble?" Mallowstar hissed in Willowstar's ear, only to get ignored. "Cranetail, why don't you explain the eyes?" Oh no. This is the moment she feared. But she knew what to do. She looked up, seeing the clouds circle around the moon. She knew it had to happen.
"I saw eyes; they were cold, and hard. Like yours, Toadstar. But I'm positive it wasn't you," She snapped, standing up more confidently. This was a big risk the clan was taking. "The cat had a gray pelt! Striped, too! And the faint, familiar scars. Try to explain that. If anything, it has to be Finscar!" Cranetail yowled, sounding more ferocious then expected. Another loud fury of hisses and screeches erupted from BoneClan.
"She's insane!"
"How dare she!"
"LIES!"
A loud fury of screeches exploded into a battle cry. The BoneClan cats thundered across the clearing, eager to battle the truth. Finscar himself leaped up onto Cranetail's back and beginning pummeling her with his hindpaws. She rolled over, knocking Finscar off his paws. Cranetail viciously raked her claws down onto Finscar's flank, grabbing him by the scruff and shaking him. He fell limp. Panic struck her mind, as she dropped him onto the ground. But he wasn't dead. He got up in surprise and leaped for her, only to get winded by a hefty gray tom-Wait! It was Steamwish! The tom cats wrestled, a mass of gray fur made it impossible to see who was who. "How ironic.." Then she remembered MountainClan.
"STOP!" Mallowstar screeched, looking around at the clearing. "You all are idiots! Have you forgotten about StarClan?!" She noticed the sky was darker then before-because the clouds were covering the moon. All cats fell silent and backed away from eachother, hissing menacingly. As they all moved away, the two shadowy shapes of Willowstar and Toadstar stood nose to nose.
"This isn't over, Willow. I mean it."
