"Hey can anyone hear me? Help?"

My ( By the way, I will be Thomas in this story ) heads hurts so badly. Bloods on my hands and bruises all over my body. I couldn't remember a thing -- not even my name. I was trapped in this cage, a metal cage, slowly moving upwards and upwards. There was no end to this.

"Help! Help!"

I continued to scream on the top my lungs.

The cage suddenly stopped. Green and red lights spilled into the cage. In a blink of an eye, sunlight blinded my eyes.

What happened?

I opened my eyes, I was still in my cage, but the cage was opened. About 20 people stared at me.

"Look, our new arrival!"

"Hey, Greenie."

"Ain't no ticket back."

A dark-skinned boy extended a hand to me, I grabbed his hand as he pulled me to my feet on the ground. I look around, trees and houses made of straws came into view.

" Hi Greenie, I am Alby, the head and the leader of the Gladers."

" Hey, I am Newt, second in command."

A blond boy with an accent came and shook my hand.

" Everybody, get back to work!"

Everyone started to turn away.

" Welcome to the Glades! " said Alby.

" Why am I here? " I said.

" Well, every month the cage comes up with a boy in it, and you are our new arrival of the month!" Alby said

" We eat what we grow and build things with what we have, you can be useful and do some work for us. Remember, there are 2 important rules. Break one of them and you will be punished severely. "

" Rule No. 1 : Never Pick A Fight With Anyone.

Rule No.2 and the most important of all..

Never... never go beyonds the walls" Alby points to the wall surround the Glade and an opening in between two walls.

"But what's out there?"

"The Maze. No more questions till tomorrow's tour."

"Okay.

" Great, go to Chuck, you will sleep beside him in the Homestead."

Alby points to a wooden shack near him. Also known as the Homestead.

I walked off when he shouted,"We have something prepared for tonight. Be ready!"

"Okay but what is it?"

"You will know it later"
