Don't Look Back

Chapter 5

"Oh no!"

Thomas had no time to lose. He just charged staight, turning left, before turning right. He did not even know where he was going. Finally, I came to a stop, the Griever was no where in sight.

"Eeekk..Eeek!"

Some smelly, disgusting and sticky liquid dripped onto my shirt, I looked upwards and got the shock of my life. The Griever was right above me! I continued to run for my life, until I ran into a dead end. Too late, the Griever slowly moved towards me, I am trapped!

I climb up the walls, steadying myself by holding on to the moss on the walls, and managed to climb up. The Griever climbed up too. I sprinted with my might, but then I stopped. If I moved one more step, I would have fall onto the ground. The Griever slowly came towards me , thinking that I cannot escape.

Ha! I sured proved you wrong.

I jumped onto a wall of moss,catching the moss just in time before I fall to my death. The Griever also jumped onto the wall, attempting to catch me. I dropped down to the ground, the Griever shortly after. But the Griever was stuck, entangled with the moss on the walls. I ran off and bumped into Minho.

"Hey! The wall is changing , follow me!”

He directed me to a closing wall

"Enter the wall and we will be save!"

The wall began to close and Minho sprinted to the other side. I planned to go in there but I stopped. The Griever was back again. I waited for my chance. I charged into the wall,squeezing through them, the Griver behind me.

"Thomas! Don't look back! Keep running!"

Just as the wall was about to close, I dived out, the wall squashing the Griever instead. Blood and some of the body parts flew everywhere. EEW!

During morning, when the walls opened, Minho and I carried Alby and walked back into the Glade.

Everyone was shocked!

"Wow! They survived the night in the Maze!"

"Leave the Alby with the MedJack, his stung."

"Did you see any Griever?"

Minho proudly answered.

"More than that, Thomas KILLED a Griever."
