It's been only a week and six days since Chris passed away, aka the day that the producers wanted to throw him a Total Drama funeral, and Heather didn't really know how to feel. Her husbands, Alejandro and Duncan, have tried to gloss over the questioning of if she was okay. But her answer was always the same.

"I am fine," the twenty-nine year old former queen bee insisted as she fixed her  self up in front of her vanity. Her eyes locked with Duncan's through the mirror, "This isn't even his real funeral. It's just a silly excuse for those old men to get some spotlight on Total Drama again."

Duncan nodded his head at her answer. He knew she would insist on being okay. That's just who Heather was. She was like a stone cold statue when in regard with her feelings; even with him. "I know, but you still haven't really seen him..," Duncan trailed off not really sure how to finish the sentence.

"Dead," Heather finished for him. She turned her body around in her chair; finally facing Duncan, "I haven't really seen him dead?"

Duncan only sighed, "Yeah. You didn't see him like that. You didn't want to actually see him when we got him to the hospital. You said it would be too weird to see him already dead."
Duncan was not a big Chris fan. He thought the man was manipulative till his dying breath. He manipulated people on the show. He manipulated Heather when he found out the truth about him being her real father. He manipulated the kids with his money for toys. Hell, Chris loved starting fights between Duncan, Heather, and Alejandro; which pissed Duncan off beyond measure. But Duncan knew he had to be there for Heather and the kids. The kids saw him as their Papa Chris. But Heather.. he knew she was hurting. She finally found her Dad only to have him be the man she hates, and then to have him pass away before they could connect past that.

Heather finally broke the silence with a loud sigh. "I know. But that was just me being emotional now I'm fine," she promised. "Trust me, the only thing bothering me is our stupid house mate," she rolled her eyes.

Duncan rolled his eyes at her clear subject change. With everyone from the original cast being invited, one of Duncan's best friend needed a place to stay: Gwen. So he offered up the spare room of their home; well Duncan really thought of it as a mansion, so he thought Heather and Gwen wouldn't even run into one another for the one week Gwen was in town. But of course that was wishful thinking. The two kept bickering beyond end, and it was driving everyone nuts.
"You know most people try to suck it up and just pretend to act friendly. Which you need to do a lot today Angel," Duncan advised. He made sure to throw in his personal nickname for Heather in hopes of it putting her in a good mood. Sure the name was way off from how Heather really acted, but she was his angel.

"Yeah well, you know how those idiots get on my nerves," Heather shook her head, "especially that no good, dirty rotten, trying to steal my husband-," Heather ranted as she stood up, her mind running off in the direction of a certain someone.
Earlier in the year, a huge strain was put on their relationship aka Courtney. Now despite what many would think, it wasn't for Duncan. Alejandro was a lawyer and he use to work with Courtney at his old firm; key word old. The two were actually once considered best friends. But somehow, Courtney was so beaten up with her failed relationship with Gwen that she went looking for love in all the wrong places. One of those places was actually Alejandro. She mainly stuck to just being friendly and keeping her crush a secret, but one late night of work she got bold and kissed Alejandro. The man pulled away, but it was too late. Duncan and Heather walked in to surprise Alejandro with dinner to see the two lip locking. Duncan could vividly remember holding Heather back as she flung a shoe at Alejandro's head. Eventually Duncan and Heather realized Alejandro was telling the truth when he said that nothing else happened. But it was a long road for them to get back together and have all forgiven. However things with Courtney were torn forever. Heather always made that very clear.

"You shouldn't let her get to you," Duncan said as he watched Heather fix her black dress in the mirror, "just stay away from her."

Heather scoffed as she grabbed her black, sandal wedges, "whatever. Just make sure your little pasty friend knows not to bring her back here for some lame hook up."

As Duncan couldn't help the chuckle at his wife's dig he stopped as the bedroom door opened to reveal Alejandro. "The kids are dropped off at your Moms," he said as he looked at Heather, "she said she would bring them to the real funeral tomorrow for us."

"Great, less things to deal with tomorrow," Heather nodded as she placed her earrings on, "I'm basically the only person throwing the funeral tomorrow. Damien is no help," she complained.
Damien was Heather's twin brother. Like Heather, he was the product of a late night romp between their Mom and Chris after a boy band concert. However, he didn't really want to deal with Chris like Heather did. He resented the man. Which left Heather dealing with Chris all on her own.

"Don't worry mi amour, everything will go smoothly today and tomorrow," Alejandro promised. "But we need to hurry, the producers are locking the door in an hour and won't let us in once they do." Alejandro always was the responsible one of their relationship. But then again, Heather and Duncan weren't the most reliable of people in regard of time. They were always fashionably late.

As Heather and Alejandro went to do their finishing touches (man those two cared about their looks) Duncan went to go check to make sure Gwen was ready. He knocked on the open bedroom door and peaked in to find Gwen sitting on the edge of the bed. "Hey," Gwen smiled as she turned to face Duncan, "are those two finished yet," she teased?

Duncan sighed, "Yeah, Heather is just sorting out her purse and I think Alejandro is ready to start the car." He sat down on the bed next to Gwen when he was struck by what was on her phone screen. It was a picture of her and Courtney at a carnival back when they dated. "You know Heather wanted me to tell you not to bring her around here," Duncan said as he looked back up at Gwen.

"I know. I'm not a total idiot. Plus I doubt I would even have the chance to bring her back," Gwen shook her head.

"Bring her back or get her back," Duncan raised an eyebrow?

"Either one," Gwen sighed, "She probably still hates me for moving away and having to break up."
It wasn't that long ago that Gwen was truly happy with Courtney. They dated for about two years and were madly in love. But Gwen got the opportunity of a life time to move to New York City all the way in America. Unfortunately, she took it before telling Courtney. Courtney however couldn't move with her due to her firm. So the two agreed to break up as long distance was too hard. They both said they were fine with it, but deep down Gwen knew Courtney was upset with her for taking the job.
Hell, Gwen was mad at herself too for a long time. That was until she got pregnant from a midnight stand and met the real love of her life; her son Blaise.

Duncan just wrapped one tattooed arm around Gwen's shoulders. He was not one to be good at comforting people, but the effort was there. "You never know though. I surely didn't think I'd end up with these two dorks," he shrugged, "but I do think you'll end up with her."

Gwen had a soft smile on her face at the idea before letting it drop. "Come on, I'm sure they must be done by now."

The two friends stood up and went down stairs to find that Alejandro and Heather were in fact ready and also heading towards the door. The four walked went into the minivan, which Gwen took great joy in the fact that Heather was forced to be a mom and rock one, and headed to the funeral home.

No one was really sure what they were about to get themselves into.
