"Let's go on Himalayas again!" I said to my friends.
Since I couldn't see my friends during or after school, I saw them before school. I rode the bus with two of my best friends, Lauren and Brittany, and then we head down to the library and meet everyone else there. They were a very fun group to hang out with and we always had so much fun together. Well, fun as in we did lots of weird, funny, and stupid things together. We weren't afraid to act ourselves around each other, and that's what I loved most about my friends.
Lauren, Brittany, and I have been best friends since Kindergarten, and even in high school we still were great friends, even if we didn't see each other as much as we used to. We talk and text each other everyday so we can know what's going on in each other's lives. We expanded our friendship group and even now we all still love the company of each other.
So, now me and my friends are at Troy Daze, a fair that Troy, Michigan plans every year at a church parking lot. My friends and I attend Troy Daze every year and we go on all the rides. Himalayas was our second-to-last ride and my friends suggested we go on a new Ferris Wheel they added this year.
"Natalie," said Lauren, hand in hand with her new Asian boyfriend, David. "We went on Himalayas 4 times now. Let's go on the Ferris Wheel before they close."
"Fine, but I'll throw up if you and David make out when we're on."
"That's why we're getting our own seat."
"Gag me," I muttered, and Lauren shot me a don't-fuck-with-me look and I hid behind Zach, our extremely big friend. If you put your hand on top of Zach's, you'd have baby hands.
"What are you doing?" Zach said to me with an amused smile on his lips.
"Lauren," I responded.
"It's alright, Nat. I'll save you from the wicked beast."
He turned around and before I knew what was happening, he picked me up and slung me over his shoulder.
"Jesus Christ, you're heavy," Zach said, walking towards the line for the Ferris Wheel, our friends already standing there.
"Fuck you," I shouted back at him.
He put me down when we reached the line and I punched him in the gut, but instead of hurting him, I hurt my wrist.
"Ow! Fuck, Zach! Why are you wearing metal under your sweatshirt?" I asked, rubbing my knuckles.
"It's called a six-pack."
"Since when did you have a six-pack?" A shiver ran down my spine. "It's so damn cold outside. I'm going to freeze to death before we even get on the stupid Ferris Wheel."
Zach rubbed my arms up and down repeatedly. "After the Ferris Wheel, we'll go buy some Elephant Ears and fries. Does that sound good to you?"
I looked up at him, his hands still rubbing my arms to keep me warm. "And a burger?"
He laughed. "Sure. And a burger. On me."
I smiled at him. "You're the best."
"Tell me something I don't know."
Lauren and David sat alone and Brittany and three other friends sat together. Zach dragged me into an empty one and we sat together as the Ferris Wheel began to circle.
"Oh my, God. It's even colder up here!" I said, wrapping my arms around myself as I shivered. "Fucking Michigan weather." I looked at Zach who was staring at the fair around us. "How in the world are you not freezing your ass off?"
