"How curious," Alfred thought as everything happened. Alfred did his best to try to avoid flinching every single time that Alice gently rubbed his face. Arthur took the rag from Alice and used some of his magic as queen to help Alfred recognize the queen. Alfred flinched at first, looking down in shame. Arthur started to talk about the weather with Alice, watching as Alfred slowly and subconsciously leaned into the first gentle touch in who knows how long. Yao Wang was busy setting up the guards and the personal servant that would serve the King. Arthur noticed that Alfred had fallen into a trance as Arthur had finished cleaning his face and was playing with his hair.
"I have a bath set up for him." A servant, Torris a refugee from Clubs, declared.
Alfred was following the orders, although it wasn't actual orders. His body guard, as tradition stated, was to be the Queen then the Ace. Arthur has introduced the Ace of Spades, Matthew William. Matthew was sweet and almost invisible but Alfred remembered that this person would play at his feet as a child, never really paying attention to the armored man.
Alfred was curious about why bathing was a big deal. As a Time Mage, he didn't sweat, no bodily orders outside of smelling like the roses of Spadia that were only found in sacred places, hunger and sleep could be suspended. It was like having your clock shatter and yet you can still live. All he needed to do was rest to restore his magic than he could cleanse himself. He didn't know how to say it but he was to tired to argue about anything so he just went with it. Apparently, a bunch of servents were to wash him. He flinched a lot until one of the servants pulled his cowlick. He went completely limp, unable to move or talk. Arthur took note of that as he and a physician watched, the physician used the moment to do a whole physical and study both the King's mark and how his body responded. Apparently, Alfred was extremely sensitive if that hair was pulled. "How curious." Arthur thought as he made sure that Alfred was safe and hopefully healthy.
