The second day of school. The second day of fooling everyone. The second day of her mission.

Nikita woke before her alarm clock on the following day. She switched off the alarm and began getting ready for the day. She started with her morning workout, then migrated towards choosing an outfit and heading to the bathroom to shower and wash off the sweat from her exercising. Once she had completed her shower, she redressed and applied minimal makeup.

The young woman finished up in the bathroom by drying her hair and brushing through it. She left the room and disposed of her old clothes in the dirty hamper placed in her bedroom. Once finished, she inspected herself in the mirror hung above her dresser.

She looked decent, clad in a white t-shirt, black jeans, brown leather jacket, and white sneakers. Her hair was still damp from the shower, but it would dry soon enough. Now she just had to eat breakfast and brush her teeth.

Nikita exited the bedroom and headed towards the kitchen. Sarah was already there and smiled upon spotting the Red Reaper. "Good morning," Sarah greeted.

"Good morning," Nikita replied shortly, taking a seat and digging into the plate she was provided. Sarah seemed to take the hint that the young woman didn't want to chat, so she remained silent as they ate.

Owen disturbed the serenity by entering the kitchen and greeting both of them with a "Good morning." Nikita simply hummed in response, finishing up her breakfast. Sarah responded to her husband with the same two words, and they pecked each other on the lips in a chaste morning kiss.

Nikita avoided the sight of the married couple. She found it difficult to fathom the thought of two people loving each other dearly. For the majority of her life, she had not had anyone to love. Love was forbidden in the borders of Red Room. The closest she had ever come to love was seducing someone, and that certainly did not count.

The brunette stood from her seat and sat her plate in the sink. She quickly fled the kitchen, wondering what it was like to love someone.

Upon arriving at school, Nikita found that she still received several glances from other students. The young woman sighed, growing increasingly exasperated with all the attention she received from the Americans. She often didn't mind being stared at, but the way the students ogled her was enough to make her annoyed.

Nikita strolled into the building, heading for her locker. She entered the code to open it and snatched her book for her first class out of the compartment. Her first class was English, which Alice was in as well.

The brunette teenager shut the locker door and began making her way towards her English class. However, while she was ambling down the hallway, she heard the all too familiar sound of someone calling her false name from afar. The Red Reaper barely restrained a groan of frustration.

"Nicole! Yo, Nicole!"

Nikita inhaled deeply, held the breath for a moment, and then exhaled slowly. She plastered an expression on her face that didn't give away her frustration and turned on her heel to face Mike Newton.

The boy looked pleased that she heard him. How could she not have heard him? With the way he had been screeching, the whole school probably heard him.

"Hey," Nikita greeted, voice falling flat. Mike didn't seem to notice.

"Hi," Mike replied cheerfully. "My friends and I were wondering if you'd wanna sit with us at lunch?"

The Red Reaper quickly weighed her options. Alice had offered her a seat at the Cullen-Hale cafeteria table yesterday, and if Nikita sat with them, she was more likely to learn about the suspects and who might be responsible for the killings in Forks. However, if Nikita sat with Mike and his friends, maybe she could learn more about American habits and social interaction?

The young woman made up her mind. "Sure, I'll sit with you and your friends today," she agreed. She tacked on the word 'today' in hopes that Mike would realize she didn't plan on sitting at their table every day.

Mike appeared relieved and glad. He nodded over-excitedly, in a manner that made Nikita wonder if his tiny brain rattled in his skull as he did so.

"Great! Awesome!" Mike burst out. "I'll see you then? Unless you want me to walk you to your first class."

Nikita quickly denied, "No, that's okay, I can handle it." And because she wasn't completely heartless, she added, "I'll see you at lunch."

Mike nodded and opened his mouth to say something else, but Nikita had already turned away. She continued on to her first class.

'Glupyy mal'chik,' Nikita thought rudely in Russian.

Once Nikita reached English class, she only spotted a few other students within the classroom. She was a bit early, as the bell hadn't rung yet, but that was fine. She would be willing to wait in a state of boredom instead of being escorted by Mike.

The Red Reaper took her seat and pulled out a pencil and pen, as well as her textbook. After doing so, she noticed Alice entering the classroom. The possible-vampire was dressed in a cute outfit, just like she had been yesterday. Nikita had the faintest feeling that dressing nice was a normal occurrence for Alice.

"Hi, Nicole," Alice murmured, sitting in her seat gracefully.

Nikita forced a kind twitch of her lips. "Hi, Alice."

"I love your outfit!" the golden-eyed girl complimented. "The colors match nicely together."

'More small talk,' Nikita mused to herself. Outside of her thoughts, she replied, "Thank you. Your outfit is nice as well."

"Thanks!" Alice responded cheerily. "Do you want to sit with us at lunch today?"

Despite the seemingly innocent question, Nikita caught a knowing gleam in Alice's amber eyes. The maybe-vampire had probably overheard Mike and her's conversation.

"Sorry, but I already agreed to sit with Mike Newton and his friends," Nikita responded, faking a sympathetic frown. "Maybe tomorrow?"

Alice nodded with a quirk of her lips. "Sure, tomorrow sounds great."

The teacher entered the classroom, disrupting their conversation. The chattering amongst the students began quieting down. Class began, and Nikita found herself questioning Alice's intentions.

'Would you still be complimenting my outfit if you knew what I'm here for, Alice Cullen?' Nikita wondered.
