-Settle down, please - our english teacher half yelled,
English class, one of my favourite classes, although I was really into biology, physics and spanish class. I didn't really like stereotypes so I didn't classify myself as a nerd, or at least not just a nerd, I admit that I'm the person who reads the most books in my entire class, and loved learning new scientific facts (or any type of facts really), but that's because they're all too lazy and immature to understand what reading really is. My point is do nerds play basketball? Are nerds the fastest in their class? (I mean running). Anyways, I was pretty good at languages and so was Grace, but I had a weird obsession with America, so my accent had to be perfect, even though my accent was the best in our class. I had been having au-pairs every summer since I was two years old, and I also had been living in Tulsa for 2 months in 5th grade.
I snapped out of my thoughts to take a seat between Grace and Lindsay, our classroom was kind of big, it had wooden chairs and tables and white and blue walls, there were also three white windows at the left of our class and a green board in front of us.
Our teacher started talking again - Today we're going to work on a project in groups of four - she then started explaining the project and when she was done she started calling out for the groups, then I heard
- Lydia, Blaine, Irina and Noah- I stood up and sat right next to Noah, who looked surprised, we all started working on the project , but after a while Blaine and Irina started talking, and I kept working on the project with Noah, he threw small glances at me for a while until he suddenly asked
- do you usually read books? because you know a lot of things that most of the people in this class would know-
I was a little bit confused by this question, but I responded
- Actually yes, my favourite books are the Harry Potter books, do you read too?- I asked
- I do actually, usually science fiction ones, but I also love basketball and surfing- he replied
- Surfing !?!? I've always wanted to do that, I know how to sail a boat but I don't know how to surf- I said imagining how cool it would be
- Someday, I'll have to teach you - he said kind of distant
- Yeah, someday- I said not knowing how he would be able to teach me how to surf, if he was going back to Saint Thomas in four weeks
- This might be weird but I miss the ocean more than my family- he said as he chuckled
- It doesn't sound weird to me, Saint Thomas must be beautiful - I said dreamily
- It definitely is- he said looking directly into my eyes
- Can I touch your hair? - Irina interrupted looking with her light blue eyes into Noah's perfect curls, while Blaine laughed
- No - Noah said clearly annoyed, she didn't care because she grabbed a piece of his hair and started saying
- It's sooooo fluffy!!!- I rolled my eyes at this and Irina kept attacking Noah's hair
- Class dismissed! - the teacher said, I started heading to the playground, when I felt a warm hand grabbing my wrist and I met those beautiful blue eyes
- Do you wanna play basketball with me and my friends at recess? - he asked nervously
- Sure- I said excitedly, - But only if my friends are allowed to play too- I added quickly
- Of course they are! - he said - Ok see ya! - he said before I could even respond
I headed to where Lindsay, Nikki, Iris and Grace were and told them what just happened, I also asked them whether they wanted to play with them or not and they agreed to play, Nikki seemed to be kind of mad at me, but I couldn't care less, we waited for Grace's sister Amelia who had brown curly hair light skin and wore glasses that made her chocolate eyes look better and also for Sarah who had straight dirty blonde hair and honey eyes. When they finally got out of their class we finally headed to the playground.
