A year had passed since Tisha's death.

A year for Sean to come to terms with the fact that she was now in heaven.

He stood by her grave, reading his Bible. He had begged for her body to be released to him and he gave her a beautiful burial with the last of his savings.

At a point he became depressed, shutting himself away from the world.
Roy, who was now allowed an hour, sometimes two, out of prison always visited him and Drey, encouraging them to be strong and to hold fast to God.

Sean constantly thought about her death. She died with a smile on her face.
Before the last bullet hit her God opened his eyes and he saw her spirit leave her body into the bossom of an angel who took her to Jesus.

She was happy.

She was free.

He could see her laughing.
He could hear her laughing.

He sighed and touched his head.

He looked at the time. It was noon and he was hungry so he headed to a restaurant not too far from school.

A lot had happened after her death.

Drey had a falling out with his husband, and they filed for divorce.
He lost the casino and was back to feeding from hand to mouth.
Due to depression he turned to drugs and drinking, loosing himself in them for even the slightest bit of relief.
Sean hadn't checked on him so much because he was trying to get himself back together as well.

But now he was okay. God had been faithful throughout, showering him with strength and grace and so much love, enveloping him with words of comfort and occasionally showing him visions of Tisha in heaven, often allowing him speak to her.

Now he was strong and he was back. He had put himself back on track. Tisha's demise was just the first step. God's real target was Drey's restoration and there was a lot to do.
Tisha's death was meant to be used as a medium to draw Drey back to God.

He left the graveyard and moved to Drey's apartment. The poor soul was on his couch, about to open another can of beer.

I have my work cut out for me, don't I?

Yep. This is where the real work starts.

"Why did he take her away Sean?" Drey murmured as Sean struggled to take him to the bathroom.
"What kind of God would do something like that?" he murmured again.

"The kind that loved you Drey and has plans much bigger than any of us can understand. I will explain when you're sober but right now, you stink and you need a long bath"
