When she finally came out of her classroom I stood there looking at my wrist pretending I had on a watch. She looked at me, pursed her lips, flipped me off, and walked past me. I laughed and ran a little to catch up to her.

“What's your next class,” I asked.

“Art,” she replied grabbing my hand a folding her fingers in mine.

I looked down but didn't say anything or pull away.

“Me too,”I replied, “ so do Serenity and Lance.”

She laughed and we walked down the hall and went past the office. We saw them both walk out of the office red faced so I called out to them. They walked over to us and we all walked to art class.

When we got there me and Kevin took the chairs on one side of the table so serenity and Lance would have to sit next to each other. They glared at me and sat down as far way as the table would allow.

Just then the teacher walked in. His name was Mr. Arnold and he was really creepy. He always hangs around the freshman boys and smiles a lot. Serenity clenched her fists together because the man straight up terrified her. I don't why but ever since she saw him, she has tensed up and ran. He lives down the block from us, so it's even worse. Her foster parents made her go around to all of the houses in the neighbourhood and introduce herself.

Lance put his hand under the table without a glance or a word. She immediately relaxed slightly.

I leaned over to Kevin and whispered,"Aww they are so cute."

She rolled her eyes and squeezed my hand.

Across the room, Carter and Michael were arguing in whispers. Michael looked peeved and Carter looked up and winked at me. Then he went back to smirking and watching Michael freak out beside him.

I laughed but got quiet when Mr. Arnold spoke again.

"Hey you guys, my name is Mr. Arnold, can I get Serenity McCoy up here?” He asked. She looked at me with her eyes wide open with fear.

I could see her tense up immediately. Lance whispered something to Serenity. She nodded and walked up to the desk where Mr. Arnold was.

When she got up to his desk he was looking at her with his signature creepy smile. “Sir?” she asked barely audible.

“I need you to take attendance for me please?” He asked handing her the attendance sheet.

“C-can do,” she replied. Her voice was trembling.

She did a quick scan of the room before replying, “Everyone is here."

“Well that’s great, can you take this to the attendance office for me?” He asked her with a smile.

"Gladly,” she replied walking to the door. She grabbed the hall pass and quickly walked out of the room.

"Okay guys, today we are going to do a 'Who Am I' worksheet. Because this is art class, it's a colouring sheet," Mr. Arnold announced," Michael Smith, can you please come pass out the worksheet?"

All eyes went to Michael with sympathy. It's no secret that Mr. Arnold petrifies him. Carter leaned over and whispered what could only be encouragement. Michael stood up and took a deep breath.

"Yes sir," he said as he walked slowly up to the front of the room.

He passed out the papers and when he got to our table I reached up and squeezed his hand. He looked at me gratefully and moved on.

A few minutes after Michael sat down, Serenity walked back in.

She immediately sat down in her chair and put her head down and refused to talk to anyone.
