My Life Story

Part 2

Olivia made her way into the living room. Her mom was sitting in the chair and her dad was on the couch. She walked over and stood in between them where she could see them both. Her mom waved for her to sit by with her. She god a bad feeling. Like a wave of dread had suddenly came over her.
"What's wrong momma?" Olivia asked.
"We have something important to talk about Lib." Her mom explained.
Olivia could see her moms eyes start to water.
"Do you think it would be okay if your dad went across the ocean for work?" Her mom tried to choke back the tears.
"For what?" She answered.
"Well, he has to go help other people with their problems." She said.
"If he has too then I'll be okay with it. But I don't want him to leave us forever." Olivia explained.
"He won't leave us forever." She said, "He's just going to be gone for a while. He will eventually come back home."
Olivia was sad but she knew it was for the better. But her mother lied. Her dad wasn't coming back. He was leaving for another girl. They didn't want to tell Olivia the truth but she would find out sooner or later. So they just lied for now. Olivia went back to her room after giving her parents a hug. She could hear the garage door slam shut as her dad left. She could see her mom out of the corner of her eye. She was standing in the hallway watching her play. Olivia didn't want to look at her because sh knew she would come into her room. But as she stood there Olivia saw the tears streaming down her face. All the pain and sorrow was finally about to crash into Olivia's sweet innocent world. Everything was going to change and she would soon find herself stuck in a place she didn't want to be.
