I was awakened by the preppy, blonde flight attendant, "Ten minutes till landing!" she said in an overly happy voice. It annoyed me, nothing was happy about this day. There were ten minutes until I reached my Destination Doom...
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alison Montgomery. I am 17 years old from a small town called Andover inside Kansas. My mom and dads job lately has been finding ways to label me crazy and get me sent to this old, creepy, boarding school that I have never even heard of. Why did they do this? I have absolutely no idea. The school is BrentwoodAcademy located in-the-middle-of-nowhere, Pennsylvania. I honestly thought I was a good kid. I've gotten good grades my whole life (never lower than a C), I am very academically involved in school but at the same time I am a cheerleader. I have never once had to take a trip to the principals office...now I'm not saying I'm some angel or anything, because trust me I'm not, but if there's anything you've just read that is "sending me away to some boarding school" worthy, let me know.
The plane has landed and the seatbelt sign clicked on. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes for my last few minutes of normal. When we were finally excused to exit I grabbed my bags and took my own sweet time walking to the luggage pick-up area. I approached the bags and noticed a man who looked like some guy from an old movie who's role was the butler, picking up my bags. What in the world?! "Hey! Excuse me! Those are mine."
"Miss Alison?"
"Uh.. yes?"
"I am here from BrentwoodAcademy? Didn't you know there would be someone picking you up?"
"No sorry. I wasn't notified." I said in a snippy voice. I couldn't help it. Anything that had to do with that school was an automatic depressant in my mind. And now the journey shall begin..
"My apologies miss."
He led me to a long, black limousine. Wow. If I'm being driven to school in a limousine with my own personal server, can this school be that bad? Eh.. Probably so.
After an hour or so we arrived at what appeared to be a huge mansion. It had a large, green lawn that glowed in the night. In the middle of the yard there was a rather large water fountain with little cupid statues surrounding the top. There were flowers around the brick building and although it seemed elegant, it gave off a creepy vibe. We walked up the long sidewalk and then through the huge wooden doors. I walked into the lobby and saw a front desk. I guess that's where I should go? I lugged all my bags over to the woman, who looked at me grumpily. "You are?"
"I'm Alison. Alison Montgomery?" Were they not expecting me? Crap.
"Oh yes... That's right. You haven't even... Whatever. Your room will be at the very top floor, take a right and then you will see room 4093. We weren't expecting you this early so you will have a room to yourself for now."
I stood there for a second looking like an idiot I'm sure. What had she said about me not even...what? Maybe I imagined it. I took the key for my room from the receptionist and nervously walked towards the elevator. It was late; no one would be up would they? I didn't want to run into anybody yet. I probably looked like a wreck, jetlag and all.
I pushed the number 9 and rode up the floors. The doors emerged leading to an open and a luckily empty hallway. The walls were a dark red color, and the carpet was black. I shrugged and found my room. I tried to insert the key into the doorknob but it wasn't working. Was this the wrong room? Oh gosh... I swear if this is the wrong room... What was I going to do? Right then I heard footsteps. "Hello?" I said. My voice echoed down the long corridor. Someone ran into me from behind causing me to drop all my bags and the key. "What the hell?" I turned to see a guy. Not just any guy. An extremely hot guy. He had long black hair, bright green eyes, and a muscular built. He was wearing what I guessed was the schools uniform, it made his pale complexion stand out. He was beautiful.
"Oh my god. I'm so sorry it was an accident I swear." He said seeming to mean it.
"Oh.. I- no its fine!"
We both leaned down to pick up my luggage and we bumped heads. He looked at me with a smirk on his face, his perfect lips so incredibly close to mine. "I hope this isn't going to happen often. You know, me bumping into you. Id much rather encounter you in a more, friendly manner." He laughed and so did I. "Let me help you with that key." He grabbed it from my hand, his fingers lingering on my arm for the slightest second.
"Thank you so much. I'm new here and this is... a lot to take in a guess. I'm Alison by the way."
"I know who you are. And it's not a problem. I'm Chase. It's a pleasure to meet you Alison."
"You know who I am?"
"Its not every day we get a new kid at Brentwood." He said this as if it were some inside joke. I hated feeling left out. I also hate when people assume they know who I am, I'm more than just the blonde, cheerleader most people see in me.
Slightly irritated I opened the door. "Well I've had a long day. I guess I'll go to bed now."
"Will I see you tomorrow?"
"Sure." I said trying to give my best friendly smile. I wasn't in the mood. This day has been so confusing and to be honest I just wanted my old life back, not this stupid new boarding school life. Even if it did involve hot guys.
I didn't bother changing out of my clothes or exploring my new room. Instead, I just turned off the lights and collapsed on my bed, on my way to a peaceful, dreamless sleep.
