Chapter 1
Anna woke up at two o’clock in the morning, eight hours before her alarm clock was supposed to sound. She turned on the lamp beside her bed. She didn’t sleep well. For one she was sleeping in a new place and secondly she was nervous. She covered herself with the tick quilt that she kicked off earlier. She was cold, probably because she was sleeping in a hut. Anna closed her eyes and tried to sleep but instead of the Sandman came memories of her child hood.
She remembered her trips to the forest to meet her friends. She also remembered the warmth of their fur and the gentle gestures made by their little hands. They would throw her up into the air and she was never scared they wouldn’t catch her because they always did. She played with them and told them fairy tales and in return they brought her gifts such as flowers and wild berries. They also platted her hair and danced around with her. So many great memories came from the forest, memories no one with a clear mind would ever believe in.Maybe she was truly insane but all of it seemed so real to her.
Anna would go home and tell her parents how she taught a a monster to skip or how she rode a unicorn. Then she would run up to her room and draw pictures and write stories in her journal. At first her parents accepted her daughter's abnormal behaviour and powerful imagination but as Anna grew and kept her beliefs they became worried. Girls in her class became interested in boys and makeup and still all Anna could talk about were magical creatures. She also talked to animals. At the age of ten she became a vegan.
Anna stirred in her bed, she didn’t only have good memories. When her parents decided they had enough of her crazy behaviour they forbid her to go to the forest and organized appointments for her with a shrink. This treatment didn’t help. It only made Anna hate her parents. Anna slowly detached from them and surrounded herself in an invisible bubble. She still went to the forest even with out her parents permission. Warm tears filled her eyes as she went deeper into thinking about her past.
Slowly rumours spread around the town of her being totally insane. Anna completely stopped talking to her parents. At sixteen most girls had found love and were free, while Anna was a prisoner in her own house. Her parents had to make sure she wouldn’t leave the house. They locked her in her room at night and never left her alone. Now that she was kept away from her forest and friends she mostly drew all day until the pencil broke in her hands. None of this changed her mind about magic and she always talked to birds at her window if she got the chance. Anna tried to shake the dark thoughts away, it was over now and everything was fine.
Even though her heart was filled with hatred towards her parents, she was still the same loving Anna. She never stopped believing and fighting for what she wanted. As soon as she turned eighteen and had the right to move out she packed her bags and went away. Of course she really had nowhere to go but she figured things out as she went along. Her only desire was to share her memories with girls and to teach them to be strong. She wanted to open a camp and tell someone her secrets. With a little bit of luck it happened.
Anna smiled and fell asleep. She had pleasant dreams but they didn't last long as a knock on the door woke her up again. She looked at her alarm and saw she missed it. Anna jumped out of the bed and ran to open the door.
“Are you ready for the first day of your adventure?” asked the person.
“I am and thank you Katherina,” answered Anna as she jumped with joy and hugged her friend.
As Katherina walked away Anna got dressed and ran to her new office. It was very clean but she knew it wouldn't stay like that long. She sat on her chair and spun around on it like a little child. She was scared but also very excited. Her unusual dog ran over to her and she petted it.It licked her hand and went back to the corner its bed was in.
