     The secret organization started it's mission. They began their sweep through the nation, burning everyone's journals. I heard that Mr. Zanderson had been one of the many whose journals' had been destroyed.

     Hospitals went out within hours because all the nurses and doctors who knew of the endless loop saw it pointless operating on the same people every day. By then just about everyone who understood just wandered about moping about problems the Mindless knew nothing about. Living in a world like this almost felt like living in a world where you could still see, touch, and talk to those deceased, with all the Mindless around. The number in said Mindless growing rapidly as more and more find it pointless to keep up the endless loop. I still didn't even understand why so many were giving up. The world wasn't that bad. Right?

     I sat still on the side of the road waiting for the bus to show up or something. Suddenly a black car drove up and some fancy looking people stepped out. They looked important. The shortest of the two who stepped out walked up to me with sunglasses and a strait face.

     "Aren't you supposed to be in school?" The guy asked. I just shrugged.

    "No point in doin so." I gave up on keeping my accent in check. The man then put his pointer finger up to his face and tapped his nose twice. The signal that asked if I was one who understood. I wasn't sure if I should answer. They scared me a little. Something on the inside quickly told me to run. So I did. I stood up quickly and booked-it down the sidewalk towards the thicker part of town where I could lose them in the alleyways.

     "He knows! Get him!!" The guy who had asked using the secret signal shouted. The taller man who was already out and two others from the back seats sprang out and ran after me along with "their leader," as I decided to give him the title of being. Good thing I had been smart and decided to run towards the busy city area. Because chances were that I was much better at navigating in there. Especially since this was far from the first time being chased around in there.

     I ran into the alleys with the four men close behind. They were probably trying to burn my journal. With not many left the whole thing was probably seen as a hunt for the final remaining.

     After running a while I happened to run into even more trouble. Devix and his gang. It looked like they had found a new secret stash of weapons since we last met because I thought I even saw one of them holding a FLAME THROWER. The gang was on one side, and the men chasing me on the other. And I was in the dead center of a long thin alley. Just my luck!

     "Well, well, well.. If it isn't my favorite little pet!" Devix spat with insanity he finally accepted as his own. I shook and tried to get away, but the men in suits were not far behind.

     "Looks we found ourselves a gang of Understanders." The head suit man said with slight joy.

     "And it looks like we just found us some new toys!" Devix said with even more joy. The insanity was insane at this point. :>

     I then felt a member of Devix's gang push me hard against a brick wall. I heard a little bit of a tussle between the suit men and the gang. All acting as if I was their prize. Trying to escape didn't seem to help because then I was just slammed even harder as a consiquence. I heard the head suit man shout muffled words I couldn't focus on, and everyone went quiet. Once I calmed my racing heart my vision cleared a little and I looked to see what had stopped the fight. All I saw was the man still raising the hand he had used to silence everyone held out in front of him.

     "Heh, you're saying that if we all destroy our only extra lives the books give us, that we will be able to live normally again?! Well sorry, I already heard it, and I don't believe it!" Devix snorted. I am guessing the main suit man rolled his eyes but no one could really tell for sure because of his sunglasses.

     "It might sound insane, but it's true." The main suit man/Sunglasses said.

     "Then how come you haven't destroyed your own, and just let us do whatever?! If we're the ones stuck in the time warp, than we have no influence on anything, right?!" Devix questioned as he reached for me himself and pulled me to him by the shoulder as he slid a dagger to my throat with a menacing smile. Everyone else just seemed to watch like side characters. :}

     I gulped hard as the blade came so close. It hadn't been the first time I had died like that, but it was definitely a death I didn't want to experience again. No death I wanted to experience again!

     "Put, the kid, down." The guy demanded slowly as he raised his hand gun. It was so tiny, I felt like laughing momentarily. But I managed to keep my scared face instead. It was probably an odd mixture of scared and silly at the same time.

     "Why? You gunna shoot me?. You forget exactly what kind of a world this is?!" Devix smirked. He then sent his attention directly to me. And looked like he was about to whisper something to me. "You ready to wake up in your worst nightmare?" He asked with such a cold tone I wondered if he was still technically considered human! My eyes widened as I thought but I wasn't given any time to react.

Shing!
