Gisella was living with people who were the enslaving type. Gisella was born free and when her family went away she got a job from these people. She was misled and ended up being their slave and hated being so, as much as the run down farm house they made her live. However, they were more than simply enslaving, they were dishonorable and unpleasant.
One was living with a no-good brute who was aggressive and the child they had secretly wasn't his. To make matters worst, the girl was mad and condescending. The girl's sister was similar and had little to no respect for her mother. The male and female patriarch of the household were both addicted to something and were no better.
Once the rival and suppose friend came and took Gisella away he did his damage. He let them loose their land and they ended up living more miserably than before.
Gislla felt sorry for them but not for their treated of her.
This rival, Fredrick Jefferson, she believed seemed interested in her. She thought he seemed attractive, however after learning more about him he turned out to have been dishonest and shallow.
Never was able to provide and self-centered plus saw her as his side harlot. Gisella knew their was some way she'd have a better life soon.
Erique was a man who saw slavery and any form of it as grotesque. A nobleman originally born in France he lived the rest of his life in the New World.
With his vast wealth and humility Erique was able to acquire land near the French country side. Much to the shock of the Blacks, Creoles, and other African folks, he never treated them with oppression. To the Whites who did, they thought Erique perhaps was simply focused on his business more.
When it was nearing the civil war Erique actually helped pay for shipment of weapons to be sent to the North. This was merely done in secret and beknownst to him. He lived in a beautiful plantation house and had the river and many vegetation to attend to.
He mutually knew Fredrick Jefferson because they did business together in wood and carpentry.
He wasn't aware about Gisella and always assumed Fredrick lived alone.
One day as Erique was busy chopping wood on a stump while Fredrick was counting the revue made that day. Fredrick was thinking of a new way to make money and what he got wasn't a good one.
"Erique, would you like to have someone lodge at your plantation?"
Erique looked at him strangely.
"As in live in my plantation?"
"Yes."
Erique didn't know what brought such a suggestion.
"Well, it would be nice to have company."
Fredrick immediately packed away his ledger and began to hurry off.
"Than it's settled! I'll make the arrangement today!"
Erique watched as he left and wondered why this made him so giddy.
Gisella was getting ready to rest on her folded bed when her room door swung open.
Fredrick came into Gisella room and with a shocking announcement.
"Gisella?"
"Yes Mr. Jeffereson."
"You will no longer be working here."
Surprised, Gisella tried not to smile.
"You will be living with an acquaintance of mine very soon. As his concubine!"
