Chapter 1

ARKANSA 2016 { yeah im kinda doin this in the futur}

April Kepner was running under an umbrella to the front door of her house with a huge smile plastered on her face. She was happy that she just got a promotion and just found out she was the new cheif of trauma in Hayride E.R..

" Good job April, some Jack Daniels for you!" She yelled into her cieling, "woo!"

Just then as if on queue her tablet went off. April thought it was her mother at first, but then she realized her mother doesn's skype. She ran over to the tablet and saw it was Cristina Yang. She slid the answer too quickly and eagerily.

"Hey Yang," April said smiling like as a little kid getting ice cream.

"Kepner, shooting rainbows out of your ass as usual," Cristina smirked

"Oh this time im aloud too," April replied defensively

"Really?"

"Yes, I am Yang," April replied smirking

"Spill the beans girl," Cristina almost shouted

"Okay, okay, i'm the new chief of trauma!" She squealed

"Yay! Congradulations, I almost don't want to tell why I'm calling,"

April's huge grin turned into a frown almost instantly

"why?"

"Umm- do you remember the Australian chick, Rebecca?"

"Yeah"

"Well, her and Jackson are pretty close," the heart surgeon said quiking her eyebrows

"What!?" April screamed into the camera

"Yeah, I guess they're having sex or something"

"Well thats just shitty"

"Did I just hear Kepner-" a familiar voice yells. Soon Alex runs in and instantly spots the trauma surgeon from the camera.

"April, hi" Alex says calmly trying to catch his breath.

"Jesus Alex did you run a marathon," the heart surgeon says sarcastically

"Go to hell Yang" Alex says causing April to grin and Cristina to chuckle

"Well Cristina i have to go," april says glumly

"Aww why?"

"I don't feel that good,"

"Well bye i guess"

"Bye" Soon the two surgeons faces escape the screen and its quiet. April knew Jackson would be living his life after she left she thought as two tears ran down her face.

I really screwed up this time April Kepner she thought as she went into a deep cry.

Seattle 2018

"Wheres Avery!" Mark shouts in line with Derek, Lexie, Meredith, Cristina, and Alex. They were waiting for the other ambulance to get there, it was a car crash, the ambulance before was taken by Callie, Arizona, Owen, and Rebecca. Car crash the other person need a cast and some stitches and was talking.

"I already paged him 5 times," Meredith shouts over all of the comotion. They had gotten a radio message saying they kept loosing the patient but brought him back, he had appendix injuries, leg broken, and head trauma.

"Maybe hes getting changed i mean its only 10:00 at night!" Alex shouted

"Or he bailed," Cristina added, everyone turned to her. "What!?"

"Why would he bail?" Lexia asked

Cristina was about to answer when derek cut her off

"Doesn't matter now the ambulance is here" everyone ran to the amulance

The paramedic open the door, "29 year old male, injuries to head, appendix, and leg"

"Name please!" Lexie shouted

The paramedic looked down at her sheet as she opened the other door

"Jackson Avery"

Everyone froze for 5 seconds letting the name sink until the other paramedic rolled him out. Right then everyone got back to work.

"I need a CT!" Derek yelled breaking the silence

Meredith was feeling his appendix "I need an altrsound!" Right then as if on queue his heart monitor stopped beeping.

"SHOCK CART!!!" Cristina screamed, the nurse ran quickly as to the shock cart and brought it in

"Charge at 200, CLEAR" everyones hands flew away as the watched their coworker jump up.

"Still not working! Charge at 500, CLEAR," everyone held they're breath praying the their friend would come back

After 10 seconds the heart monitor started beeping again, as on queue everyone breathed out relieved.

"Thank you nurse,"Meredith said as the nurse brought in the alrasound. She automatically lifted up Jackson's shirt and squirted gel all over his appendix, she then grabbed the handle and started moving it around and her eyes darted to screen

"Appendix are about to burst!" She yelled, Derek just then was looking at his CT's

"We need to get there now, to much pressure!"

Just then theyut him onto mobile and ran him out the doors into the OR.

April walked into her household tired. Then her tablet rang, UgH

She quickly swiped the answer button, " Cristina this better be important"

"It is," the cardio surgeon said straight away

Noticing the cardio surgeons suriousness she instantly sat up

"Yeah what is it?" April asked nervously not knowing what to expect

"Jackson was inside a car crash, and hes in a coma,"
