The park

I drove for hours on end. Passing buildings that I had passed earlier. The rain at this point was pouring and the sun had went down awhile ago. Street lights were on and all the cars were off the road. I continued to drive until I left town and realized where I was going. I went down some roads for what seemed like hours and eventually made it to where I wanted to go. The cliff where we all sat right before graduation, while reflecting.

I got out of the car and let the rain hit me. I walked into the park and it hadn't changed. Street lights were on the end and the same benches were there since Senior year. I passed all the lights and benches and went to the cliff and sat down.

"I thought this was over, I thought Adrian was done. I can't keep pretending that I'm okay with all of this. I can't keep getting hurt just to keep fighting. At some point I'm going to have to fall apart."

"Then stop fighting and get beat."

The voice scared me as I scrambled to my feet. Darkness was around me except for the glow of the street lights. In the middle stood the silhouette of a person. The voice sounded familiar.

"You know you can't keep fighting a losing battle."

"Adrian."

"Haha you're smarter than you look."

"What are you doing here?"

"To see you of course. Well, that and to see the mess I've made."

"The mess that I'm cleaning up, like I did back then."

"But this time I'm not losing. It is my time to win. You lose."

Sirens blared in the distance.

"Adrian you have to leave me alone now. This war has to end."

"It won't, and believe me it's my time."

The sirens got closer and pulled into the park. The cops hopped out of their cars and the lights lit up the park entrance.

"You see, I will win everytime. I am a good person and I am smart. You have to leave us alone Adrian. This has to stop, I can't keep living in fear and you can't keep up this act. Adrian, please call this off and I can get you out of this."

"I will never surrender to you. You are nothing and I will not stoop to your level and become one of you."

The police grabbed Adrian and shoved him in the car. Mason appeared from the lights.

"I see you two are still together, this world is doomed."

"Oh, you are ridiculous."

The cops drove off and left the two alone at the cliff.

"How did you do it?"

I made a mystery call to the police and set it up. Adrian was watching us so I went here. He will be sent to prison again and watched closer. The council will take it up with him and we can get all this figured out.

Mason and I drove home afterwards. We were both tired though we didn't do much.

"Carter I am so proud of you. You caught Adrian, again."

"Mason, he had to be stopped I couldn't just stand by and let this happen."

Mason and I settled into bed, turning off the lights.

"All this is almost over."

"Just think tomorrow you could be free."

We both closed our eyes and went to sleep.

Adrian

The police threw me in the jail cell and walked away. The room had two other people inside who look much scarier than I am. They were both muscular and tattooed talking to each other.

"What are you in for new comer?"

"Tried to destroy an old friends happiness, and broke out of prison."

"We tried to break a mans arm for not paying us."

"Paying you? What did he get?"

"Oh, it wasn't drugs he crashed my car and he just told us he wasn't going to pay for the car's repairs."

"That's childs play."

"Well some of us are good people who do bad things."

The officer who threw me In sat at his desk next to the door.

"So Adrian what brings you back home?"

"Destroying the happiness of others."

"Honestly leave Carter and Mason alone they are good people you can not ruin their lives."

"They threw me in here."

"They were protecting their family. You need to realize that they have done nothing wrong. You think the world owes you something but it doesn't. At this rate you need to owe them something. You cannot stop good people. Bad people always lose when will you realize that."

"I won't because I refuse to give up."

The officer walked out of the room.

"You are a heartless monster."

"You're in here too."

"Not because I destroyed someones happiness."

"You hit someone because of money."

The man shut up and laid on the bench as the other one sat against the wall. I laid on the ground and went to sleep. Not that I got much I mean I'm in a cell with two other people how I sleep soundly. Those other two for some reason were because I could hear both their snoring from here.

If tonight passes and I am still alive mason and carter will pay. Sure my reason is unorthodox but it's my reason.
