"Why is your hair tied up?" Aki asks.
"I don't like it. It's always getting in the way." XiaoLang replies. "I should have it cut."
"But I love your long hair."Aki comments as he takes it out to play with it. "I'll be so sad if you cut it.
"You're the only reason I don't." she sighs. "But why are we here?"
Aki normally hangs out with her at a messy place or a more run down play. But this time he asked if they could meet up in the royal garden. It probably one of the most beautiful places in the Empire. Aki took a deep breath. He and XiaoLang have been friends forever and last year he started developing feelings for her. This is the time to tell her.
"Cat got your tongue?" she jokes.
"XioaLang you're not like other princesses. You're rough, tough, and head strong. Plus you're not afraid to get your hands dirty." he starts. Aki takes XiaoLangs hands in his. "Even though I'm just a lowly commoner and your parents won't approve. Will you be my girlfriend?"
"I need to sleep on it." she finally answers after a long pause. "But for now let's do something fun."
"What do you have in mind?" Aki asks.
"My uncle finally got me 10 pigs." XiaoLang says. "We can feed them and play in the mud."
"Just us or with the pigs?" Aki asks.
"Both." XiaoLang giggles. "Let's go!"

"He what!" Empress Li yells. "We should've never let them meet!"
"It was only a matter of time." Emperor Li sighs. "It's too late now."
"She is wild enough without his influence." the empress mutters. "I've got it!"
"What?" the emperor asks.
"We'll just have a poison made." she explains. "Then he won't be around."
"That's harsh. His mother is the nurse of our child. She'll be broken if we do that." the emperor counters. "Can we just send him and his mother away with no harm?"
"You know that our daughter would go chasing after that boy or he'd just sneak back to see her." the empress says. "He needs to be gone for good. His mother is just collateral damage."
"Don't do anything that your might regret." the emperor tells his wife. "You may not like him but he is a citizen therefore me promised that we would protect him as well as everyone the nest we could."

During the late night Empress Li put on a cloak so she could be hidden with in the shadows night. She was going to a tavern where a magic person is rumored to be. It smelled horrible and people we acting without manner due to their drunken state.
"How can I help you?" a waiter asks.
"I'm looking for someone who can help me get rid of a problem." she answers.
"These many different people willing to do that but it alway comes with a prince. " the waiter says.
"A potion to kill is what I'm looking for." she clarifies.
He pointed to the stereotypical table. There was only one person seated there, they're slowly drinking as they observe everyone else. Empress Li makes her way over and takes a seat across from the person.
"What do you want?" she grunts.
"I hear you have the abilities that I need to rid myself of a problem." Empress Li says.
"It depends on what you need and how much you've got." the lady says sipping her drink.
"I need a poison that will kill." Empress Li says. "What is your price?"
"How much you got?" the lady asks taking a sip of her drink.
Empress Li sets two small pouches on the table. The mysterious woman looked into the pouches and smiles. But before she could tuck it into her pocket the empress swiped it back.
"We'll make a trade off." Empress Li says. "I know better than to trust people around here."
"You're smart." the lady smirks. "Come back here tomorrow around this time."

Aki and XiaoLang met up by the pig pen. They were going to feed the pigs then go to town together. Aki had been waiting for XiaoLang's answer anxiously since he asked the question.
"Do you have an answer?' Aki ask nervously.
"My answer is...." she trails off.
"What is it?" Aki playfully whines. "Please don't leave me waiting any longer."
"Of course I want to be your girlfriend." XiaoLang laughs. "We've known each other for a long time so I trust you."

-Time Skip-

It was night but Aki and XiaoLang were outside star gazing. The empress had returned to the castle with the poison. She poured some juice with the poison poured in one. Then she walked out to serve serve it to the children.
"Hey mom." XiaoLang says sitting up. "What's that?"
"I thought that you'd kids would like something to drink." Empress Li explains sweetly.
She gave each of them a cup, making sure that Aki had the one that was full of poison. She was told that it would take time to go into full effect so she went inside to wait.
"Can we go see my mom really quick?" Aki asks.
"Sure, are you alright?" XiaoLang asks.
"I just don't feel so well." Aki replies.
They both stand but Aki almost falls. XiaoLang puts her arm around his shoulder so she could help. Every time she asked he said the he wasn't in pain. He just felt dizzy and tired.?
"Mom!" Aki groans. "Mom!"
"What's wrong?" she asks rushing over.
"I don't feel good." Aki explains.
"Princess can you take him to his room while I get him some water?" the nurse, Aki's mom, requested.
"Definitely." XiaoLang says.
They walk to the maids room so that Aki could lay down in a bed. While Aki laid down XiaoLang sat at the foot of the bed. Even though his eyes were closed they still had a quiet conversation about many different things.
"What do you feel like?" XiaoLang asks.
"Like I'm slowly fading." Aki answers. "Come here."
XiaoLang gets close and to her shock Aki kisses her.
"Why did you do that?" she asks.
"I wouldn't have gotten another chance." Aki answers before closing his eyes.
"What does that mean?" XiaoLang asks confused. But he didn't answer. "Aki. Aki! AKI WAKE UP!"
At this point she started to cry. She kept shaking Aki while yelling his name but it wasn't working. His mother rushed into the room.
"What happened?" she asks.
"Aki isn't responding." XiaoLang sobs.
His mother told her to call the police as she started CPR.

-Empress's POV-

"I thought I told you not to that." my husband says.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I lie
"I know you had something to do with the death of Aki." he whispers. "Does our daughter's happiness really anger you that much?"
"She'll be fine." I say.
"I checked on her and she's doing horrible." my husband replies. "She's not doing well."
I rolls my eyes but heads to my daughter's room anyway. But it was empty when I got there. There was a maid who was tidying up. They said that XiaoLang was in the garden. Once I stepped outside I started getting nervous. Certainly those wails for from his mother, my child couldn't be making such noises over some common boy. But I was wrong. I followed the wails and it was in fact my daughter on her knees in front of freshly dug dirt.
"XiaoLang." I call sternly. "Come I mush have a word with you."
But she didn't move. She just continued to cry.
"Li XiaoLang come now so I can speak to you." I demand.
When she didn't move this time I took her by the arm. No child of mine will be caught crying like this.
"Why are you crying like this?" I demand.
"Aki is dead. I don't think you'd understand you cold heartless woman." she says before running away sobbing.
