CHAPTER 6
SOHEE

sunlight shone through the window, my toes curled, fingers twitched and my eyes blinked as i awakened. i groaned and tried covering the bright sun away from my eyes with my hands. i sighed and opened my eyes. i felt mark's strong arm wrapped around my waist, he was still sleeping like an angel. i groaned lowly and carefully escaped from mark's embrace. i was still in the living room, it was very messy and everyone just laid and slept with their mouth opened.

i realized hyejin wasn't here. she's probably in the bathroom.

i lazily walked to get a drink in the kitchen, my feet didn't even bother to lift up but instead i slid them while walking. once i entered the kitchen i reached for a plastic cup that was placed inside a cabinet.

after that i closed the cabinet and turned around. my fingers slipped as the plastic cup dropped down the floor.

i sighed and eyed the floor. my eyes dilated.

blood reflected my shaking pupils. at first i did not notice it. but as i lowered my head in suspicion of the stillness of the house, i staggered back at the sight of the red liquid on the floor. the color swirled in my mind, making me feel light while curiousity aroused in my mind. my glistening eyes followed the line, almost forcefully, like it had a mind of its own as some would say. the blood splatters were well spaced apart, suggesting that either the bleeding wasn't heavy or they were moving quickly. what made my heart ache even more was seeing a knife with blood stains on it.

i stepped back with shaking body, i tried to reach out for something to hold on since i lost my balance. i fell on the floor and immediately crawled back as fast as i could.

"m-m-mark! m-.....mark!" i screamed painfully. i screamed with my whole body. my eyes wide with horror, mouth rigid and open, my fists clenched with blanched knuckles and my nails dug deeply into the palms of my hand.

my screams were endless and my crawling were too, even though i crawled backwards i was still at the same spot without moving.

i heard heavy footsteps coming near. mark saw me and grabbed my hand, pulling me up and kept me close. "m-mark.." i spoke nervously.

"what is it?" he asked and i didn't have to answer since he now saw the knife and blood on the floor. "holy shit..." he mumbled.

johnny and ten came runninf too, the curiosity they had faded away and realized the serious situation. "what happened here?" ten asked as jungwoo peeked in a bit agitated.

i felt breathless, i felt like someone just taped my mouth to prevent me from stop talking. i was so anxious i couldn't do anything, mark had to carry since i kept loosing my balance. i've never experienced this situation before, even though this doesn't include a person laying dead, it still got me anxious.

"i- i walked in and it was already like that... i don't know what happened... i really don't." my throat started to become dry and i felt like crying sooner or later.

"hyung what's happening-"

"no, chenle jisung go back to the living room. stay there and we'll come back." jungwoo carefully pushed the youngsters back and didn't let them see what was happening.

i blinked as a tear escaped my eye. "where's hyejin?"

"i'm calling the police." johnny said and pulled his phone up. mark bit his lips and stared nervously on the floor.

...

i sat beside mark, grabbing his hands tightly while we listened carefully to what the police had to say. the police stood very stiff with a notebook on his left hand.

"we'll be studying this crime scene more deeper and do our best to get the results. there's a very huge chance that your friend hyejin can be included in this case, it's a bit visible to see since she couldn't just disappear in the middle of the forest and you couldn't contact her. someone might have kidnapped her."

i gulped. "b-but how do you guys know she got kidnapped?"

"it's clear to see, there's a single knife and it seemed like she tried to fight back but probably got harmed with the knife as she got dragged away while bleeding."

"miss jung, mr lee we would do our best to get her back so you can see her again. we'll be using your house for a day, you can go back here tomorrow. i heard mr dong came here to pick you up. thank you for your time." the policeman bowed and ambled into the area where we weren't aloud to come.

tons of police came, photographers and even news reporter.

the fear sat on me like a pillow over my mouth and nose. enough air got by it, allowing my body to keep functioning, but it's crippling all the same. i was quite sure that it was hyejin, hyejin is for sure included in this crime scene. she wouldn't just leave us without saying bye, or contacting us. and i last saw her on her way to the kitchen. now hyejin is known for being lost, missing and the police folks have informed the public so they could help if they ever recognized her.

mark rubbed my back, i sat shaking with teary eyes and played with my fingers. i couldn't think, move, speak and behave normally. this really scared me.

"sohee~" a deep voice called my name out. i looked up and saw sicheng. i immediately stood up and crashed my body into his. in that moment his arms squeezed a fraction tighter and i breathed more slowly, my body melting into sicheng's which calmed me more.

"sohee are you okay?" he broke the hug, cupping my cheek and slowly rubbing it. "y-yeah.." i stuttered. "it's okay, i'll take you and mark to my home~" sicheng whispered and hurriedly pulled me into a warm embrace again, placing his palm on the back of my head, slowly patting and rubbing it.

"oh hyung." mark spoke and watched doyoung walking towards us, doyoung didn't answered and connected his eyes into mine.

"sohee-yah, what happened huh? the policemen doesn't inform what happened. where's hyejin? what happened here?" a small panic started to grow inside doyoung, his eyes wide and i could hear his heart beating fast. doyoung places his palm on sicheng's shoulder and carefully he forcefully broke our embrace. "i can't find hyejin- where.... where is hyejin sohee?" he attacked me with question that i couldn't even answer, it made me even more anxious and tensed because i really didn't want to see his reaction if i told him hyejin is missing, and at the same time i didn't know how to explain it.

"i- doyoung... hyejin- she.." i stuttered and felt my tears rolling down my cheek. mark got worried and grabbed my hands tightly. "it's okay sohee." he whispered and ran his fingers through my hair.

he let go of my hand and i wanted them to stay with mine, it made me feel more calm and comfortable.

"doyoung..." mark placed his hand on his back, slowly leading him further away from us and was ready to tell what happened.

"come here sohee." sicheng spoke and pulled me back into his warm and safe arms.
