So I had a maybe good idea for a soulmates AU? Here we go.
(almost) everyone has an invisible 'trait'. Like a black devil tail or red wings. Stuff like that. Two people that have the same trait are Soulmates.
There are a few people called Trait-ologists or Trait-men or whatever idk. Anyway they can see peoples traits.
There is this whole ritual that Trait-men can teach people to reveal their trait at will. This makes the trait visible and like a part of their body, so it has feeling.
AND If a person does not have a trait, they are alone. Forever.
I don't know if this is already a thing, so sorry if it is, I just thought it was cool idea. At least when I was up at midnight it was
