You were on your way to meet your long time friend, Itachi Uchiha, who had contacted you after coming back from a mission just to chat. You walked around the village looking at the happy people that passed you by with every step. The air was fresh, making the leaves dance around your feet. The scent from the Yamanaka flower shop flooded the street you walked in, you waved your hand at the owner that some days gave you a small flower as a gift. He knew how much you enjoyed them.

You kept walking until you reached the dango shop, a place where Itachi could easily spend his entire day in if it weren't for the amount of missions he has. You walked in and waved at the cashier, someone you knew and was almost friends with.

"Hello (y/n)!" greeted Itachi taking a seat in front of you. You had already ordered dango for the both of you along with tea. "You're a bit late Itachi, something unusual in you." You teased him with a playful smirk, he hated arriving late. "And you got here early, something impossible. I never thought i'd see the day." You rolled your eyes at him at stuck your tongue out.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure of fitting into your tight schedule?" You asked with a grin. It wasn't that rare to meet with Itachi but it was true that he had no time to spare. The smell of the tea distracted both of you who shot your sights at the waitress. She placed them carefully on the table and left to retrieve the dango. "Itachi stop drooling!" You poked his cheek and sat back down laughing at his attempt to clean himself.

"Well, given that you are the best painter in Konohagakure, a friend of mine was asking around for someone who could paint a mask he was gifted, so I told him you could do it." He said munching on the first chewy ball. You hummed, thinking about the commissions you had at the current time. Your workshop wasn't packed but you did have something on the works. You concluded with a nod. "Great, I will tell him about your decision."

You took a sip of your warm tea and placed the cup back on the table. "And who is this person? May I ask?" You said placing your chin on your hand, you were curious about Itachi's friends. You had never met any of them, not even one. "Hm, now that I think of it, I don't know why you never met him, he's my best friend." You furrowed your brows, you had always thought you were his best friend, but then again, he's a guy. "Guy-best friend. You are my girl-best friend." It was like Itachi had read your mind. You smiled confidently and crossed your arms with a smug look. "Hey, I have to go. I have a mission later this evening so I need to prepare. I'll tell you about the meeting spot when I get back." You huffed at Itachi's non-stop missions but at least you got a bit of time with him, enjoying his favorite treat.

You exited the dango shop and waved goodbye at Itachi. You kicked some small rocks that laid on your way home. The sun was setting, giving you a dreamy view of the sunset. The warm orange bathed the highest points of the houses, while the pink and purple hues crept around the shadows. You looked up at the sky, your eyes meeting a flock of birds flying home, chirping on their way. You let out a sigh when your home came into view.

It was a small apartment, on the second floor. The space wasn't small, you could fit your workshop in one of the rooms you had to spare. It was an open space, you had been decorating over the past few months, it was a slow process, but you were on the verge of having your place the way you wanted to.

You walked inside your workshop and prepared some paintings that were ready to be delivered. You sat on one of your stools looking and remembering all the work you've done over the past few years. You had always been creative, although sometimes it was hard to come up with ideas, and that's okay. It took you a bit of time to accept the fact that sometimes it's better not to force something.

You didn't know why, but at the moment, a small feeling of excitement hit you. You were eager to know what this person may commission you, Itachi said it was a mask and as of now, and you had never painted one, let alone design one entirely on your own. You didn't know if that was going to be the case, but still, it was a new challenge you were willing to take.
