FEELINGS FADE

WE ARE quietly sitting on a bench under a shady tree, observing the calm scenery in front of us. When suddenly, someone ran towards me. He stops for a while to catch his breath before he speaks.

"Here. Someone told me to give it to you." the little boy said, giving me the pink card like letter. I wonder who would gave me some sort of a letter?

"What's that? Is that a love letter? " Cad said beside me, strumming his guitar.

"I don't know. Here. See it." I gave him the letter.

I watched him read what's on the letter and waited for his reaction. He suddenly crumpled the paper and throw it to the garbage a few steps beside him.

"It's nonsense." He said as he sat down again on the bench. Humming and strumming his guitar.

I shrugged. A few minutes later, I heard him sing a song.

Here we are in the best years of our lives

With no way of knowing when the wheel'll stop spinning

'Cause we don't know where we're going~~

I turned to face him. Cool. This buddy of mine really has a good voice. I'm so proud of him.

His voice makes me calm. Cold yet beautiful. I wonder why Cad still doesn't have any girlfriend. He has all the qualities. The looks, the attitude, the brain, and his wonderful voice.

The bell rings. Cue that we need to go back to our rooms. I was about to get my bag from my side when Cad quickly preceded to get my bag and leaded the way. I rolled my eyes. I stood up and followed him. How sweet.

"Here. Let's meet at the gate later." he give my bag to me and proceeded to walk since we are not in the same class.

"Yeah. Sure" I said even though he's far enough from me.

I really don't understand Cad sometimes. He's just too sweet and too caring.

He always does some funny gestures when we're together and it makes me laugh.

When all of my classes ended, as usual, I went at the gate where Cad and I usually meet when school's over. I can see him from where I am now. With his headphones on his ears and legs and arms crossed, seated on the bench near the school gate.

When I went near him, I poked his sides and I pouted when he didn't even flinch.

"Hey." I said. I sat beside him. "Is everything alright?" I asked.

"It's just I've been thinking of something these past few days. It's bothering me." he answered.

"Oh? And what is it?"

"It's none of your business, Rian."

What? Ouch. That hurts. I mean emotionally. He's my buddy, like best friend. I thought we already trust each other. Well, okay, I won't mind.

Something's bothering me, too. I don't know what this is but I'm sure it's about him. Should I stop this? I'm going crazy. I wish I could just shut down my feelings, this won't help me in the future though.

When I arrived at home, the scent of the delicious food that my mom is cooking greeted me.

I went to her and kissed her cheeks.

"Someone's in your room. I'll bet that you'll be happy to see her." Mom said.

I went upstairs lazily. I opened the door and a girl on her sleeveless crop-top and high-waist shorts greeted me. Her eyes widened when she saw me standing here at the door.
