~Melody's pov~
Today was the first day of 6th grade, middle school, I was real nervous yet real excited. I wanted to have a fresh start from elementary school, I didn't like most of my years there, I couldn't find who I was. I am definitely not popular like my parents want. I'm not the nice girly girls who loves pink and never have said a cuss word. I want to be me, I want to be true to myself, not being who others wants me to be, I'm me.
I walk into the gym, boy, it was huge. I walk up to the side where the sixth graders were supposed to sit. I was in a neon blue polo, knee high shorts, and I had my hair pulled in a bun. My glasses on. I search for a familiar face, but all the people I know (the middle school combines 4 different elementary schools, then we all go to the high school) were people I wanted a new start from. I see a girl at the top of the bleachers who looked nice.
I slowly made way up there. "Hi... can I sit here?" I ask. She smiles. "Yeah, what's your name?" she asks. "Melody Pritchard, yours?" I ask sitting down. "Wendy Green." She smiles.
"Why do they have the boys separated from the guys?" I ask. The 6th grade girls had half the bleachers, the boys, the other half.
"Maybe they think we want to make babies." Wendy jokes and I laugh. She had on a chevron blue and pink sheer shirt, skinny jeans, and sandals. Her brown hair down.
"Were you popular at your old school?" I ask. She was really pretty and dressed nice. "Oh, no. I hate popular kids!" she says. "Good, you're my new friend. I didn't know because your pretty and dress nice." I say.
"Oh, yeah, my mom wanted me to dress nice for the first day, but thanks." She smiles. "Where did you go to school?" she asks me.
"Bryan Elementary." I say. "I went to Snow Rogers." She says. "That's cool." I say.
This tall girl with glasses walks up. "HI!" she says and plops down. "Who's this, Wendy?!" she looked real hyper. "Hi, Anna. Melody, this is Anna Brown, she's real hyper." Wendy explains.
Anna extends her arm, wanting me to shake her hand. She was all happy and bubbly. I was shy. I shake it. "Hi." I quietly say. "HI!" she says.
"Your gonna make her into a monster aren't you, Anna?" Wendy asks. "Why wouldn't I?!" Anna smiles. I laugh. "Hey, let's see our schedules!" Wendy says, pulling her out. I check with her. "I have second and fifth with you." She says. I nod.
Anna takes mine and looks it over. "YAY, ALL CLASSES!" she says. I laugh. "Good." I say.
Soon another girl walks up. "Hey!" she says and sits down. "Melody, this is Brianna. Her dad's the principal." Wendy tells me.
"Hello." She says sweetly. "Hi, wanna see how many classes we have together?" I ask. She nods. "Four classes." I say as I hand it back. "Cool!" she says.

-First Period-
I walk into my first class, Mrs. Densmore's first period honors English glass.
I look around and see Anna. "HEY!" she says and drags me to a table and sits me down. "Ok." I say. "Lets go to our lockers." She says and I nod. She had the second top locker and I had a top locker across the hall from her.
She turns around and walks straight to my locker.
"Need help?" she asks as I pull on the locker. "It's stuck!" I say. "What's the combination?" she asks. "13- 33- 29" I say. "Got it!" she says and puts the combination in and opens it.
"It's kinda hard." She says and smiles. I put my stuff up and walk to the class. These two boys walk in. One looked like Anna.
"NICK!" she says and runs and hugs him. Nick laughs and hugs back. "Long time no see sis." he says. The other boy walks over to me. "Their twins, but their mom and dad's divorced, Nick lives with his dad and Anna lives with her mom." he explains.
"I'm Travis Eaton, you are?" he asks. "Melody Pritchard." I say and smile. This girl with long red hair walks in. "Hey Travis!" she says. "Hi Mary." he smiles.
"Melody, this is my neighbor, Mary Ann." he says. "Hi!" she says.
We all sit at my a table together. I had all classes with Nick and Travis, two with Mary.
I had found some of my people, people who were nice enough to adopt you, nice people.
