Tip #2: If your bus gets randomly pulled over because of a malfunction, walk home. I don't care how far, WALK HOME

After the encounter with Ms. Dodds, my year has gotten weirder and weirder, the weather getting crazier, this random teacher replacing Ms. Dodds, to people not even knowing who Ms. Dodds was. I asked Grover about her and he would hesitate, but would repeat what everybody else was saying, and it's a bit suspicious, but I just pushed it to the back of my mind and forget about it.

Over the the rest of the school year, my grades slowly went down from Cs, to Ds, to Fs, excluding Latin class which I had a solid B+ in, and because of the constant fights that i got into with Nancy, I wasn't allowed to stay at Yancy Academy, but I didn't care because I was excited to go home and see my mom, the most wonderful woman in the world. However, there would be things that I'd miss about Yancy like Grover, Mr. Brunner and his Latin class, and other things. I was sitting in my room, studying for my Latin final because that was the only class that I cared about and after enough time passed I decided to take a break and take a walk through the hall.

While walking through the halls, I was passing by the faculty offices when I started to overhear a conversation between Grover and Mr. Brunner. My curiosity got the better of me and I heard a bunch of things that I don't think I was supposed to hear. They were talking about things like a deadline, me maturing, and some kindly ones? (E/N good luck on the maturing part, friend) I don't know what they were exactly talking about but that was cut short by me skidding my foot along the floor causing a loud 'SQUEAK!' which got the attention of the two. I quickly looked for a hiding place and found an empty room to use and hid in there. I saw the shadow of Grover but a little bit different appearance was different, he had some sort of weird pants and shoes on, fur pants and goat hoof shoes to match. As he inched closer to me I heard the 'CLOMPS' his shoes hitting the floor. When he was done searching for me he went back into the office and shut the door behind him and continued whatever they were talking about and I returned back to my room.

I didn't finish studying that night.

After finishing on the exam, I was about to leave but I was stopped by Mr. Brunner.

"Tyler" He consoled "Don't worry about not coming back to Yancy"

"Don't worry, I wasn't." (E/N Betcha weren't expecting that, Chiron!)

"Oh, well... good"

I left for my room, got my pre-packed luggage, and shipped myself off to the bus station. When I got there, the last person I expected to see was Grover.

"Oh, hey Grover."

"Hi Tyler, where are you heading?"

"Manhattan."

"Oh cool! Me too!"

The two of us got on the bus and sat near the back, me sitting in the best seat, the window seat (A/N fite me) (E/N back corner seats are the best in any scenario, change my mind)

I was looking out the window, when I noticed Grover acting more nervous than usual.

"Hey is everything alright? You look like something's on your mind."

"No, I'm alright"

Investigation mode activate. (E/N What, are you a video game character now?)

With my eyes squinting, I say, "you're lying." (E/N Great work, detective Jackson)

"W-What no I'm not!"

"Yes you are. I overheard some of your conversation with Mr. Brunner." (E/N Eavesdropping is bad, kiddos. (if they find out, that is))

Grover sighs, "What did you hear?"

"What's the summer solstice deadline?"

"...I can't exactly tell you"

He sighs again, "Just take this." He handed me a wrinkled business card.

Grover Underwood
Keeper
Half-Blood Hill
(800) 009-0009

"What is this?"

"I-I guess you could call it my summer address?"

"Ok, why would I need this though?"

"Incase you need my help"

"Why wou-"

I'm cut off by the sound of the engine taking a shit and us having to go to the side of the road, and for all passengers to get off. We were on some old country road in the place where it belongs with trees and trash on one side of the road and a fruit stand on the other selling an assortment of foods to nobody and three ancient old ladies knitting a pair of socks fit for a small giant. The odd part about them is the fact that all three of them were staring right at me as if they were looking into my soul. I heard Grover saying something but I wasn't paying attention two what he was saying because I was so entranced by the old ladies and their knitting. (E/N Tyler has never seen a Horror movie, apparently) When the middle woman cut the yarn I swore I could hear it as clear as day from across the long road. At that moment, the driver fixed the bus problem and everyone shuffled back onto the bus. When we got to our seats, Grover started asking me questions.

"Tyler, what did you see across the road?"

"Umm, some old people knitting a giant pair of socks."

"Did they ever cut it?"

"Yea? Is that bad?"

Grover started panicking, "Oh gods, oh no, why do they never get past 6th grade? Why?"

"Grover? Are you alright? You look pale."

"Let me walk you home!"

"Uh, alright."

And with that, the rest of the bus ride was in silence, with me thinking about how the hell I got into this mess.
