Prologue

"And? They are too ignorant to understand. Keep the newspapers at a high price."

"Who reads the newspaper anyways?"

"Detectives, Scientists, Authorities. I do."

"You can keep a secret, yes?"

"Of course. This is the largest risk we've taken since the slaughtering of children ordered by the king. I will keep it locked in my brain."

"I believe you. They will understand once they enter their new life."

"Yes. Now, let us get to work."

1 Day After

Knock....Knock.....Knock

"Ugh, no. I'm not getting up until my alarm goes off." I said.

It was an important day in the office but I'm not exactly the most important employee. I turn over in my bed and try to fall asleep again.

"Come on, Stephen, today's important! You can't miss it!" The annoying girl voice says from the other side of the locked door.

"No. I don't feel good, now leave me alone." I groan.

"Fine, not my fault if you get fired." She says, her voice fading as she walks away from the door.

I decide to get up with the thought that my boss would most likely fire me if I didn't show up for today. I get up and slump to my closet to get clothes. I open my door and step into the bathroom. Good thing I'm on the bottom floor so it's quicker to get ready since everything for me to get ready is downstairs. I never leave my stuff in my room. I take a quick shower and get dressed. I open the door and go into the living room to get the things I need for work. I meet that annoying girl again.

"You're up? Thought you weren't feeling good." She said with obvious sarcasm.

"You're very funny." I said.

She was sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and reading the latest issue of Underground News or just a newspaper. The kitchen is connected to the living room to make a small merged room.

I grab my stuff and head for the door.

"Have fun." She said.

"Pfft, tough luck." I say and walk out the door. I start walking to my job, The Core.

I take the newly founded railroad system to The Core. There's a train stop right at the entrance of The Core so it's pretty convenient. I sit in a seat alongside four others around me. Two of them were having a conversation. I couldn't help but overhear it.

"Have you heard about the outbreak in Snowdin?" The monster asked.

"Yeah, I saw it in the news. 30 turned to dust. It's horrid."

"Any word from the Council? The king? Royal Guard?"

"No, I don't think so." The other monster responded.
