preface

in all my years of public school, we weren't ever allowed to sit with boys on the bus. it was always girls on the right side, and boys on the left.

no exceptions ever.

even when every seat on the girls side was full, and the one girl who always had to sit by herself had someone sitting with her, we still had to sit on the girls side.

that was until my senior year of high school.

the rules had changed because of all the fights girls were getting into.

too many parents came to the school complaining that their daughters had busted lips, black eyes or broken noses, and after the 16th complaint, our principal complained to the board.

the school board's resolution was;

"both genders may sit together, as long as students refrain from sexual activity or other inappropriate behaviors. the seat must also be assigned by the bus drivers. flout these rules and your consequence will be decided the next day by your principal."

i wasn't too worried about who i was sitting with until the bus driver called out,

"blaire hartnett and jack gilinsky, seat 16."

did i forget to mention that jack gilinsky was the biggest scumbag, dick headed, arrogant shit who had his head so far up his ass ? i think i did.
