Peter helped the dazed Ned walk out of the building as Scarlett walked ahead of them to find James. Other disoriented employees walked out with them as well.
"Who... who is that?" Ned asked, extremely confused and out of it. Peter lightly laughed at him.
"Her name is Scarlett, Ned," Peter answered before glancing over to see her rejoin James. They stood over by their SUV at the end of the street talking as Peter helped Ned into an ambulance.
Peter's heart felt heavy as he watched the ambulance drive Ned away, but a moment later he turned to go talk to the Von Brandts. Once he was close enough, they looked to him and stopped talking.
"Are you alright?" James asked him.
"I guess it hasn't hit fully yet," Peter answered.
"I still don't think it's safe for you here," Scarlett added with a sympathetic smile.
"I'm not one who easily walks away," Peter told her, meeting her eyes. She could see so much sincerity and hurt in them, she looked away to her dad.
"That's not a bad quality to have," James said.
A second explosion went off. Peter instinctively ducked at the noise as Scarlett looked past him, watching the cloud of dust start to form around the other side of the Stark Industries building. The remaining people went into even more chaos, screaming and running away as fast as they could.
"I could use your help," Peter said once he turned back to Scarlett.
"I have a job to do as well," Scarlett told him. Peter respected that with a nod.
"Well, if you'll excuse me," Peter responded and started to walk away. He stuck his right hand into the air, shooting a web and flying off into the sky.
"You're sure?" Scarlett asked her dad in German, making sure this is what needs to happen while not taking her eyes off of Peter who is tying up someone on the street in front of the Stark Industries building.
"Positive," James replied curtly.
Scarlett and James watched as more and more agents began surrounding Peter. He webbed the one closest to him, yanking to throw him against another. Both toppled over the side, now falling as Peter activated instant kill mode.
"Ready?" James coaxed her.
He was doing a good job at keeping them at bay, but he was now becoming overwhelmed. They watched as Peter spastically looked around in his now tight situation. A moment later, he was blocked from view due to being surrounded.
A sudden flash of light erupted from the middle. Beams of white light shot out, launching the agents from Peter. The beams shot out of the palms of his hands, but it wasn't enough still.
Scarlett reached down to the SUV's tire rim, grabbing onto the small hidden handle. When she pulled, out came a bar of metal, morphing into a motorcycle. She attached her cane to her back and threw her leg over the seat.
Next, she floored it towards the huddle around Peter. Before getting close enough, Scarlett slammed on the front breaks to launch herself forward off of the bike. Peter looked over just in time to see Scarlett pull the pins out of two grenades while flying through the air above the group. The bike trailed behind and slightly above her. Their eyes met, causing Peter to immediately web up to pull himself away, following Scarlett.
The grenades dropped, exploding in the center of the group to completely obliterate everyone in its radius. The bike fell into the explosion, only fueling it larger. Peter looked around in search of her as he flew, seeing her dive forward onto the pavement by rolling over her shoulder to soften her fall.
