Chapter 7 Part 1

Ardeth's POV

My uncle and I went to our newly founded friends to tell them that we might have some kind of help. When we arrived to their hotel room they we're all huddled to one room packing any kind of weapons they could get their hands on.

"What happened?" My uncle approached them.

"He came here killed Mr. Henderson, almost killed Shaleigh and kissed Evy!" Rick hollered. I looked for Shaleigh to find her in a corner still trying to control her breathing. I walked towards her but she still has not seemed to notice I was in the room.

"Shaleigh?" I touched her shoulder which caused her to jump slightly.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"I wasn't scared," she shrugged her shoulder "I was just caught off guard that's all." She got up and joined her friends packing weapons. She avoided me the whole time we were there.

"Miss Carnahan I think I found some evidence that can help us!" My uncle pulled one of the girls aside.

"What is it?" She was eager to know.

"You know the big black slab in the back of the museum?" She nodded. "There's a part on the slab that talks about the Black and the Golden Books. But it's hard to make out and I need your help in deciphering it."

"Of course I will help anything to get rid of this bloody monster!"

"Okay follow me." Everyone followed my uncle but I grabbed Shaleigh before she could walk out of the room.

"What are you doing?!" She tried to pull out of my grip. "Let me go!" I let her go but before she could leave I also closed the door.

"Why are you trying to avoid me all of a sudden?" I looked into her eyes but she looked away.

"You wouldn't understand." She tried to open the door but I trapped her between my arms with my hands on the door preventing her from opening it.

"What makes you think I wouldn't understand?" She turned around and looked at me.

"Because I'm not even sure if I understand it!" Her face blushed and was flustered.

"When you figure it out let me know." Out of instinct I grabbed her chin and kissed her. I could feel her slowly kiss me back. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around her waist. We could have lasted in that heated kiss for God knows how long. But we were interrupted by someone opening the door and clearing their throat.

"Shaleigh we need to go Jonathan has the car running and ready to go." We broke away from the kiss to see her friend Rick standing there.

"O-okay." She blushed even more and pulled away from my grip and started to follow Rick. She then turned to me and noticed that I was not following. "Aren't you coming?" She softly asked.

"I'll be there soon," I walked towards her and gave her a quick kiss on her soft lips. "I promise." I ran my thumb on her red cheeks. She nodded and turned back to Rick and left.

Rick's POV

Shaleigh followed with her head down but I can see her cheeks were still red. I lightly chuckled.
