“Oh im sorry” I say as I look up from my phone to see who I ran into. Ah, the ever so lovely Nevaeh Ashton.

“Texting and walking leads to texting and driving, and that leads to death” She said, not even turning around. I laughed a little and looked back down at my phone. I was going to lunch all the while trying to find my friend Colby who just transferred schools today. I found him waiting by the cafeteria doors.

“Hey man” We did a bro hug type thing and walked to the lunch room. I sat with my team and Colby sat next to me, he doesn’t play football like the rest of us, but he does play hockey.

“Hey so I saw this really hot girl, I think I might try to get her number later” Colby said to me. I smirked and turned towards him.

“So who is the lucky girl?” I ask and he looks to a table a few over and I follow his gaze. Poor kid, he has no idea what kind of sand pit he just fell in. “Nevaeh Ashton. Sorry bro, but you have no chance. She doesn’t date kids on her team.” I said, patting his back.

“What do you mean team?” He asked with a confused look on his face.

“I’ll give you a little insight on Nevaeh, she’s the hottest and most popular girl in the school. Except she’s not a slut and she doesn’t cake her face in makeup. Hell, she never even had a boyfriend. Every guy wants her and every girl wants to be her. She’s friends with literally everyone. Her music choice ranges from death metal rock to punk pop. She excels in everything she does. She is in all ap senior classes as a sophomore, captain in varsity hockey and wrestling, drum captain in marching band. She plays every instrument known to mankind and is an amazing singer. So, good luck trying to get her.” I said gazing over to her.

Her long brown hair was pulled into a neat high ponytail, but it still managed to reach her hips. She had on a white lace dress with a brown belt around her thin waist. Her think rimed glassed sat on her nose and she wore a smile on her face, showing off her perfectly white, straight teeth. I guess she felt my stare because she looked in my direction and offered me a small smile which I returned with a wink. She rolled her eyes at me, but a small blush and smile made it’s onto her face.

I have had the biggest crush on her for years. I’m probably the furthest person to get to get with her.  Last year at a New Years Eve party, she and I had no one around us when midnight stuck, but then she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me. For never having a boyfriend, she’s pretty damn good at it. Plus I’m pretty I’m the only person that’s not in her best friend circle that can flirt with her without having her beat me up.

I’m determined to make her mine, and I know exactly how. It’s perfect. I’m the star quarter back and she’s the drum captain. So football games are how I plan to get her. People would figure that I would be with the head cheerleader, but she’s a bitch and she throws herself at me. Nevaeh is different, she makes me chase and honestly, it makes me want her even more. What the hell am I talking about; every guy wants her for that reason and more.

The final bell rang and I left bio and went straight to the locker room to get changed for practice. While making my way down to the turf, I heard the distinctive sound of a snare and looked to my right to see Nevaeh leading the band down to the varsity practice field. I swear, they practice more than us. Just then, I was tackled to the ground by one of my teammates. Today is going to be a long practice, I can tell already.
