The morning smelt of fresh dew and an incoming storm. Those were my favorite types of mornings, as if nature was warning you of its own temper tantrum. After waking I had slipped on my favorite purple shirt with flower embroidery on the right shoulder. Atop it had been my blue denim overalls with my small brown work boots. Great...work time. I grabbed my plow and headed for the door, only to be whacked by it in return.

"I DID IT! BY DAMN I DID IT!" screamed pa.

"Do what pa?" I asked, while trying to dress my new bump.

"I got my dad's old fishing boat to look good as new! She sails like a beauty! I'm taking my girls sailing next week!"

I smiled reassuringly to my overjoyed father. Secretly though, I was more excited for myself. Finally! I would be free from this run down village just for a little while. The water would be the only thing in my path, I couldn't of been more excited.

After finishing my garden work, I heard ma and pa talking about how exciting it was to go out on the ocean again. Ma of course, was more excited about catching our dinner. When my family went fishing we had always caught enough to feed us for a month. But ever since the boat, and grandpappy died...we had to garden for our food.
