Again a completely unrelated pic but all the same I love it!

*HARRIETS POV*

I woke up feeling heavy. Then I realised there was a weight on my chest. I opened my eyes to see a dragons face staring back at me. The dragon squeaked in shock when it realised I was awake and back-pedalled. That was when I realised that it was a green terrible terror.

A small, overly curious dragon, it was sitting on the foot of my bed staring at me in that little bug-eyed way that they have. It was so adorable that I couldn't help but laugh at it. The noise must have woken Hiccup up because he rolled over in his bed so that he was facing me and opened his eyes. He let out a small noise of panic and sat up suddenly, staring at me when he saw the terror. "Harriet! What are you doing! Get back from there!" He exclaimed. The dragon flew out of the window in fright. "Hiccup calm down!" I said. "He won't hurt me, he was just curious" I explained. "He? The dragon is a He? How do you know that!" He said. "I don't really know how I can tell that he's a boy, I just do" I told him.

We got out of bed and I pulled the curtain across the room so that I had some privacy to change out of my night clothes. Once we were dressed we headed downstairs for breakfast. That's when I realised how quiet it was. I looked around the room and saw the reason, or really I didn't, dad wasn't up yet! "Are we really up so early that we're up before dad!?" I asked. "I guess so" he replied. We ate breakfast in a comfortable silence. Afterwards we washed up and I walked over to the door to collect my bow and arrows. Before I left I wrote a message on a piece of paper, leaving it on the table for dad. It read

"Dad,

we woke up early and are heading out for a while before training starts,

Harriet"

I walked out of the house with my bow in hand. I looked over my shoulder to see a terrible terror following me at a distance. It looked like the one that had been in my bedroom this morning. I stoped and watched it as it landed in a tree a few feet away and steered at me. Without realising I was doing it I held out my arm. The terror regarded me unsurely then flew towards me and landed on my arm. It licked my face. I laughed. It tilted its head and squeaked. It WAS the same terror that was in my room this morning. It blinked slowly at me and then took off hovering a few feet away as if it wanted me to follow it. Unsure if this was wise I followed him into the forest until suddenly I found myself back in the cove I was in last night. The terror sat down on a rock and chattered to himself about how surprised he was that I had followed him so willingly.

I approached him slowly and carefully. He looked up and growled. "Don't come any closer or i'll shoot" i heard a squeaky voice say. I looked at the terror" did you just talk?" I asked it. "I am a very reasonable dragon but if you come any closer I will shoot! Last warning!" There it was again! The terror was giving me a deadpan stare. I stoped walking. "Are you talking to me?" I asked the terror. "Well yes obviously, WAIT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME!?" The terror said in shock flying a few feet up into the air. "Uh, yeah I guess I can" I said. "Well this is something else altogether, I knew that you were special child but this is ridiculous"  the terror exclaimed. "By the way my name is fern" it said. "Ok then fern, how am I able to understand you?" I asked.

"I-I-I don't really know" he replied. "There is a prophecy of a child of unknown origin who will be the link, along with six other children, between Vikings and dragons"  fern told me.

"Seven children, six of berk, will rise to defeat the dragon queen.

The final child, of origin unknown, shall rise to clams the old queen's throne.

Dragon's free from old queens wrath will settle on any island they see.

Most on berk will grow to see a dragon's friend is forever free.

When foes rise to threaten old friends, the chosen seven will return again.

Alone on an island and far from home these seven shall be forever known"

He recited. "Wow fern, that sounds really impressive" I said. "But I have to go, I have dragon training now". I ran back through the forest and down to the arena. When I arrived everyone drew their weapons and pointed them at me, or rather who had followed me out of the forest. I turned around to see fern following me, flying at full pelt towards the arena. "Guys stop don't attack him!" I said. "Him? Harriet what do you mean him?" Astrid asked ax still pointed at fern who had just landed on my shoulder. "This is fern, my friend" I told her. "Your new friend is a dragon!?" She yelled at me. "You are crazy!" "Astrid calm down" I said calmly while scratching fern behind his horns. "Oh yeah, keep doing that" fern said. "You like that do you?" I asked him. "Oh yeah do I ever!" He replied his leg twitching like an oxygen deprived fish.

I laughed at his childishness earning an even more furious glare from Astrid. "I wasn't laughing at you just for the record" I told her. "Oh yeah, then who were you laughing at" she shot back, furious at me. "I was laughing at fern" I replied calmly. Everyone else was just staring at me like I was crazy. I suppose I did look a little strange to them with a dragon sitting on my shoulder. "Uh Harriet, why is your dragon looking at me like that?" Fishlegs asked. "Because you smell like a fish?" I said. "Yep" fern said confirming my suspicions. Snotlout piped up "does he want a fish?", then the twins "how dangerous is he?" "Can he bite me?" "No, fern will not be biting anyone Ruffnut and he isn't that dangerous Tuffnut" I said. "Not dangerous! I'll show you dangerous" fern exclaimed, shooting sparks from his mouth. 'I'm sure you would' I thought to myself. Everyone stared at me. "Uh did I say that out loud?" I asked.

"Uh yeah" Fishlegs replied while the others just nodded. "Oops" I said. I chuckled nervously. "Alright class, time for tr-DRAGON!" Gobber yelled rushing at me. "Gobber wait!" I yelled as I sidestepped his attack. "Why should I? There is a dragon on your shoulder! Or are you blind?" He said. "I know full well that there is a dragon on my shoulder Gobber, he is my friend. This is fern, fern this is Gobber" I said, introducing them. "I have half a mind to fly over there and bite him" fern said. "Well don't cause it won't end well" I said. Everyone stared at me again.

"Ok Gobber why don't we just get on with the training session and forget about fern for now" I suggested. "Alright, I s'pose we should" Gobber said. "Fern why don't you go and wait up on top of the arena cage for me to finish" I said. "Ok Harriet" he replied before flying up to the top of the arena cage to watch. Gobber opened a cage and a blue terrible terror flew out. "Uh, this is awkward" I said wondering what fern would think if I fight another terror in front of him.
