Jungkook's POV

My feet dug down into the cool sand, sinking in slowly. The tiny pieces of glass and rock tickled my toes and massaged my aching feet. The salty air kissed my skin while the water licked at my toes, splashing at my ankles like it was saying 'hello!'. "Hello to you, too, ocean!" I say back, not expecting any answer.

I kept walking along my small private beach, until I spotted my favourite sitting spot. A giant, water-eroded rock that had a flat surface, which was tilted toward the beautiful ocean so I could lay down and watch the world change, in comfort.

The sky this day was mostly clear; a few bunches of fluffy pink and orange cotton candy clouds grazed the sky, lit up by the quickly-setting sun.

I leaped onto the rock, climbing ever so carefully to the sweet-spot on top.

My body completely relaxed when I laid down, so much so that it gave me chills. It felt nice to relax like that after an annoying day of running around at work. I hadn't been able to go to the beach for an entire week, so I was deprived of relaxation. That's why it hit me like the softest brick in existence when I finally got it.

I feel asleep in that spot, too gone from reality to actually care if I got sunburn... or hypothermia.

———

I was woken up by a giant splash of cold, very cold water. My body shot up from its position on the rock, shivering violently. I hugged myself tightly.

I looked at the ocean, wondering if the waves just picked up a little too much. No, impossible. The waves were calm and there was only a hint of a breeze. Then... how...?

My heart started beating faster, fear washing over me like the cold splash from before. I peeked over the edges of my rock, looking for anything that could have caused it. The only thing I could see was water and stirred up sand. I looked farther out into the water, grazing the surface with my eyes. Nothing.

I sighed and rubbed my wet, freezing arms. Maybe I will get hypothermia.

I lifted my shirt over my head and set it on the edge of the rock to let it dry, and to let myself dry.

My eyes turned to the sky. It was cloudy, and kind of dark; it was obviously early morning as I had fallen asleep around sunset the day before. I rubbed my eyes and laid down again, finally having recovered from the shock of being splashed awake.

"I should go home..." I speak aloud, to whom? I didn't know. To myself, I guess.

I waited a few moments before making my final decision, one that made me get up. I brushed my fingers through my damp hair and went to reach for my shirt. It wasn't where I thought I put it.

I tilted my head in confusion, looking around for it. It wasn't there at all.

"Am I hallucinating today or something?" I ask myself, genuinely concerned for my health.

"You talk to yourself a lot."

I freeze up. Yes, ok, I'm going insane. I know that I'm completely alone. I'm fine. There's no one else here. Ok? Ok.

Dammit, don't ansWER THE GODDAMN HALLUCINA-

"What?" You fucking idiot.

I heard a gentle exhale from somewhere in front of me, then what looked like a human head of blond hair appeared from the front of the rock. From that hair came a whole face, and arms and hands, too. They rested their arms on the rock, seeming to be holding themselves up. I thought I was alone, so naturally, I freaked the fuck out.
