Andrew stepped out of his Uber's car. He grabbed his small, but heavy, suitcase and checked the address on his phone to make sure he told the diver to head to the right place.  Lucky he has. A small condo complex on the outer parts of the city, number 14A. He pushed up his glasses, and brushed back his short brown hair.

As he approached the front door, he breathed deeply. A feeling of  bricks falling on, and crushing his inner organs overwhelmed his left brain. Run! His right brain yelled. But turning back was the last thing he wanted. He's been looking forward to seeing Kai again ever sense they started drafting apart. During all of the relationships he's been in since his sr. year (1 relationship )  he's longed just to see Kai more then he's ever wanted a lover's touch. Always wondered why, but never thought to much over.

The 25 year old, finally put his hand into a fist and knocked.

Waiting

...waiting

.....wai-Oh shit the doors opening!

A small-ish young man opened the door. His, shockingly long hair put up in a messy girl bun on the top of his head. His pupils shrunk instantly as his eyes were exposed to the sun's light for the first time in who know how long? Kai himself may not know.

As his light sensitive eyes placed their gaze on Andrew, and his back straightened and his jaw dropped.

"Rew...crap." Kai said. He looked at Andrew head to tow. To head. To tow to head-

"It's been a long time." Andrew said with a polite smile.

"Oh, yeah, uh....come in!" Rai said, stepping out of the door way.

"Thank you." The door closed, and  there they were right again. Just standing and looking. Wondering what to say, yearning to speak again.

"What are you doing back in Washington? Vacation? Or work bring you back here?" Kai finally spoke after hour long seconds.

"Oh, uh, vacation is what in calling it. Just taking a small break, visiting home for a while. Heh.... uh yeah. I haven't shaved in a couple days." Andrew said, trying his hardest to act calm. Acting to hard. He leaned closer to a mirror hanging on the wall over a shelf, covered in crap. He put his hand around his jaw, rubbing his thumb over his stubble.

"'Days'? Wow, I wish I only got light stubble after days of not shaving." Kai chuckled.

"This? Light? Light for you?" Kai nodded. "Yeesh"

"Wanna hit McDonalds soon?"

"I'm down for whatever"

They  drove, ordered and sat down. Still making terrible small talk like they're at a Highschool reunion. But they weren't! They knew each other! Well! They aren't old peers, reminiscing about their vague memories, they're close and it hasn't even been ten years.

"Oh! I've been meaning to ask, how's you and Roxanne doing?" Kai asked. Only he's been dying to know about Andrew's love life ever since Andrew said he was coming back home. An unknown infatuation with Andrews romance life.

"Oh, we're not. Broke up a year or two back." Andrew chuckled, but there was long, deep sorrow in his eyes.

"Shit man, I'm sorry."

"No Dude, it was forever ago."

"Oh.  Well, still." Kai didn't know what to say. He was trying not to smile. Happiness from his best friend's sorrow? Maybe now there is no chance that anyone can take him away again. I mean it was that bitch Roxanne that took Andrew all the way to California. Now he's all mine again. Oh he's still talking about his job...uh, something about how proud he is about his dream adult cartoon becoming reality. Just nod, just nod..
